8/19/16 2017 IF/RHP was a one-man wrecking crew in the Show's first game, going 3-3 with two well-struck doubles, making a number of plays defensively at shortstop, and pitching to contact for three effective innings. On the mound, he employed a big hip coil and pitched out of an over-the-top slot with a fastball at 77-80 and a big curveball with depth at 64-66.
6/15/16 6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Registered an 87 mph bat exit velocity and went 2-for-6 in game action. Displayed athletic actions defensively with 82 mph arm strength across the diamond and the ability to make the slow roller play look easy.
Sat 80-82 off the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot with a 72 mph changeup thrown at fastball arm speed with some sink. Also flashed a 65 mph curveball with hard biting 11/5 rotation that he struggled to command for strikes.
2/14/16 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash and posted an 87-mph exit velocity. Starts from an open stance and takes a quick, knee-to-knee stride to square. Wraps barrel behind head, creating some length in his path. Attacks the baseball and would benefit from adding strength to his frame. Defensively, he fields the ball out front, plays through the catch well with his feet, and logged 83-mph arm strength from an over-the-top slot.
On the mound, Smith's delivery incorporates a deliberate wind-up and big hip coil in which he shows his back to the hitter. The uncoiling action tended to have his front side working toward the left-handed batter's box, which led to inconsistency in his release point. Out of an over-the-top slot, both his 2-seam and 4-seam fastballs sat 79-80. Best pitch was a mid-60s, 11/5 curveball with big break and some depth. Will need to continue to work to develop feel for his change-up, as he tended to yank it gloveside on this day.
11/7/15 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitter. There's a lot going on in his swing, but he showed an ability to consistently barrel the baseball during his BP round. Starts from an open stance with weight on backside and takes abrupt knee-to-knee stride to square. High back elbow on launch, led to some length in his slightly uphill swing path. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash and recorded an 82-mph exit velocity. Defensively, he tended to field the ball off his right hip, but showed a quick, one-shuffle release and accurate 82-mph arm strength.

11/7/15 6-foot, 165-pound primary shortstop sat 77-79 out of a high 3/4 arm slot. Utilizes an extremely deliberate delivery with a pronounced hip coil. Displayed a 67 mph curveball with 11/5 shape, a 73 mph changeup thrown at near fastball arm speed and a sinker that sat 77-80 among his complimentary pitches. Sinker is thrown from a slightly high arm slot and shows some late fade.
