2/16/14 Smith displayed quick feet and a clean transition with pop times of 2.00-2.12 on throws of 75 mph from the crouch. Those times will continue to improve as the junior works to eliminate a bit of a hitch in his throwing motion. Smith starts from an open stance and gets to extension consistently from the right side of the plate. He displayed some gap power and a 90 mph bat exit velocity in a solid round of batting practice.

8/3/13 Smith is a 6-foot, 165-pound prospect that showed well and has a big upside. Smith, showed pop times of 2.00-2.08 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. His ground rule double in Game No. 2 against Team Ohio fueled a 7th inning rally by Team PA.
2/23/13 Smith turned in an impressive showing in all facets of the game. The 6-foot, 165-pound sophomore showcased pop times of 1.97-2.09 on throws of 75 mph out of the crouch. Smith had an excellent round of batting practice using a flat bat path through the zone to barrel baseballs with good pop. Smith has quick hands and a solid lower half that led to an 84 mph bat exit velocity. Smith will be an interesting follow over the next three years to see his further development.
9/26/12 Smith showcased well with a 7.22 60-yard dash, a bat exit speed of 79mph and pop times of 2.12-2.20 on throws of 75mph from the crouch. The 6-foot, 165-pound sophomore has a solid approach at the plate and is sound defensive mechanics. Smith got his team off to a solid start in their first game with a first inning double.
8/22/12 Smith is a catcher to watch in the Class of 2015. The 5-foot-11, 155-pound right handed hitter has a good frame and should mature physically in time. Smith ran a 7.48 60-yard dash and had a bat exit speed velo of 79mph. Offensively Smith showed quick hands that allowed him to stay inside the baseball. He displayed above average power to the pull side and squared the ball consistently. Defensively Smith shows promise. His pop times of 2.06-2.13 and a top velo of 75mph to second base were impressive for a catcher of his age.
