A toolbox backstop who can impact the game on both sides of the ball.  Had strong outing at Top Prospect Games in June (60: 6.92 | C Velo: 83 | Exit Velo: 86) and productive TBCA showcase (2 for 5, 2 R, 2 RBIs).  Rose from 89 to 60 (+29).  The #2 uncommitted catcher in the TN 2020 class.

6 foot 2, 185 lb, Big League type body with a strong athletic build. Offensively, displays a physically mature looking swing resulting in plus power and the ability to drive the ball to all parts of the field. His slow smooth load, transferring into a quick, fast twitch swing makes him out to be one of the best hitters for his class. Defensively, fills the catcher roll very well with his big body and above-average catching ability. Displays a smooth and relaxed framing technique, while also having the ability to throw anybody out with one of the best pop times in the state.

6-foot-2, 175-pound, RHH picked up a double in game while showing off his quick release behind the plate.  Tall, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, projectable.  Just scratching the surface of his frame potential.  Offensively, hits w/ an open, crouched stance into short hand rhythm into shift of weight, stride to square and proper load.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  All fields approach w/ lot of line drives.  Knack for contact, just 1 swing and miss on 6 pitches.  Projectable pull power, present doubles power w/ gap to gap ability.  Projectable above average runner.  Defensively, presents quality knee-high target, holds the target for the entirety of the pitcher’s delivery.  Solid receiver w/ feel for framing the baseball.  Receives with knee on the ground and other leg out to his size.  With runners on, transitions into a crouch with runners on.  Athletic w/ ability to box the baseball.  Super quick hands as a receiver w/ arm strength to target.  Occasionally gets moving too quickly, causing the arm to rush to catch up.  Projects to stay behind the plate at the next level.

6-foot-2, 170-pound, RHH reached base 3 times while showing tools to catch.  Tall, athletic profile w/ lot of projection, some lean strength.  Offensively, hits from a crouched, slightly open stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Bat waggler.  Shift of weight, low hand load and stride.  Uses lower half well in swing, everything is connected.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  All fields approach w/ lot of line drives, present gap power.  Swing works better in game then in BP, engages lower half better.  Defensively, shows quick, middle infield type release w/ arm strength to carry to target.  Presents a good target for his pitchers w/ easy receiving.  Quiet behind the plate.  Moves well.  Intriguing mix of receiving skills w/ catch and throw ability.  High level 2020 catcher to follow.

9/25/16 - 60 Time: 7.63, Pop Time: 2.02-2.09, Position Velocity:  C-65, Exit Velocity: 76
5-foot-11, 160-pound, RHH hits from a little wider and even stance with some very low initial hand positioning, uses a short stride and a very subtle and slight movement back with his hands to get loaded, lower half gets through well most of the time and give him good separation, sometimes comes a little too far forward, athletic kid showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields during his round of BP.  Defensively, showed quick hands and good footwork behind the plate, footwork got him aligned well and a clean exchange at his chest led to a short arm action through a high ¾ slot, throws were accurate and consistently on the bag.
