4/13/20

The 6-foot, 173-pound, right-handed hitting outfielder slugged his way to Game 1 MVP of the KY/TN Border Battle after going 3 for 4 with 2 triples and 4 RBIs.  Medium, athletic frame with good present strength and tools upside after a so-so summer overall.  Barksdale found his grove offensively this fall with more consistent hard contact, barreling balls into the power alleys.  Projects to hit for average with some power upside and plays a steady corner OF with CF potential.  A workhorse who plays hard and provides an all-around skillset.

10/6/19 - Home-1st: 4.32, Position Velocity:  OF-81, Exit Velocity: 93
6-foot, 173-pound, RHH showed intriguing all-around skillset to project in CF w/ good bat speed and easy gap-to-gap power.  The Game 1 MVP of the KY/TN Border Battle, going 3 for 4 with two triples and a single. Barksdale screed one run and drove in four.  Medium, athletic frame w/ present upper/lower half strength, Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into moderate stride and proper load.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ proper path & natural loft.  Projects to hit for average w/ present pull-side power and spray to all fields. Drove both triples to deep left center field.  Continues to showcase good speed tool (4.32, Home to 1st). Defensively, shows the potential to be an above average defensive OF, speed to cover gap to gap w/ projectable carry through target arm strength, super projectable arm action.

10/14/18 - Home-1st: 4.41, Position Velocity:  OF-81, Exit Velocity: 78
5-foot-11, 165-pound, RHH showed intriguing all-around skillset to project in CF w/ better bat speed than exit velocity indicates.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, upper body projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into short stride and proper load.  Lot of moving parts, especially with his hands to get into position.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Proper path w/ natural loft.  Projects to hit for average w/ projectable pull power as frame matures.  All fields w/ lot of line drives when right, gets occasionally pull happy.  Has been a consistent above average runner every time we’ve seen him, beginning in February.  Defensively, shows the potential to be an above average defensive OF, speed to cover gap to gap w/ projectable carry through target arm strength, super projectable arm action.
