The 6-foot, 190-pound Castle was a modle of control as well as a display of potential power in day 1. During the defensive evaluation, Castle showed off a cannon for an arm out of a relaxed, agile set up, and he nailed his target with consistency. Pop times ranged 1.86-2.01. At the plate, he worked from a wide stance with a simple hand load and he shot balls through the middle of the field, got good lift with backspin on the balls he chose to elevate, and put together an overall high quality BP session. Castle clocked a 7.32 60-yard dash.

Has made a lot of jumps since we saw him over a year and half ago. At 5-11/190 he has a strong frame, posted an 89 exit velo with simple strength in BP. Threw 78 from the crouch and his pop times we extremely consistent; 1.93, 2.01, 1.93, 1.95, and 2.01.

09.23.17 - Castle has a strong, sturdy frame for a freshman at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. The right-handed hitter has rhythm in hands with good bat angle and a strong top hand. Starts from a slightly open stance, early load, average balance, short stride. Short, compact, uphill path creates lift. Solid round of batting practice where he showed above average strength to the pull side for his class with gap power. Look for his balance to improve as he continues to develop his weight shift through contact. Behind the plate, Castle has good mobility in his strong lower half. Quick footwork as he gains ground with a quick exchange into a short, loose arm stroke that works well to get out front, creating good carry. Solid accuracy and for his class on throws to second base, pop times ranged from 2.0-2.05, with a velocity from the crouch of 75 mph. Castle gunned down a would-be base stealer at second during the game, even though the runner had a great jump, he came up firing and put the throw right on the money.
