Uncommitted 2020 LHP Gareth Tobias (Lone Star/Weiss) got the start for the Texas squad, and was extremely good. While his fastball sat in the 80-83 range, he was able to locate with a three-pitch mix, hold baserunners, and keep opposing hitters off balance. He tends to slow his arm down on the breaking ball, but despite standing at just 5-10, 160 pounds, he pitches with confidence and conviction.
