6-foot, 180-pounds. The left-hander put together a gutsy performance in relief, going six innings, allowing only one run (unearned) on two hits, two walks and eleven strikeouts. We saw his first inning out of the pen, where his fastball was 80-82 mph, curveball at 68-70, and changeup at 69.

6-foot, 180-pound frame.  The left-hander has a quick tempo in his windup with fluid rhythm, works in-line to the plate with a square landing, and releases from a high ¾ arm slot with some effort involved.  His fastball sat 78-79 mph working it around the zone, his curveball had a tight 1/7 shape at 62-63, he worked his slider down below the zone at 66-68 mph, and his changeup had some slight cut to it at 68-70 mph.  He hits from the left-side of the plate out of an open stance, has a quick leg kick, and rhythm in his hands and barrel. He posted an 81 mph exit velo, and barreled some balls up to the pull-side in BP. He had clean footwork around the bag at first base and had 73 mph arm strength from the infield. Archer ran a 7.61 laser-timed 60.

6-foot, 180-pound frame with broad shoulders.The left-hander works from a high slot with a short arm stroke. Up tempo delivery and good energy as he gets down the mound and has an athletic finish. Fastball ranged from 74-75 mph with some downward angle. His curveball has 12/6 shape and good depth at 63-65 mph. Slider has more lateral action and 2/8 shape at 61-63 mph. Turns his changeup over at release, creating arm side fade at 66-68 mph. A two-way player and left-handed hitter, Archer starts from a tall, open, balanced stance with his hands held high and the barrel tilted back toward the mound. Smooth load back as he triggers his hands down and back. Easy stride, lands balanced, short path, loose finish, hard contact to the pull side with an exit velocity of 80 mph. At first base, Archer plays through the ball with quick footwork and smooth rhythm, showing good footwork around the bag. Quick exchange to start the double play at second base, good overall feel for the position and throws from different slots.

Pumped strikes and struck out three of the handful of batters he faced. The left-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance with loose rhythm as he triggers his hands down and back. Short stride, lands balanced as he rotates his hip with the barrel getting on plane early. Quick hands through the zone with a short path, strength at contact, flashing power to the pull side with lift and an exit velocity of 78 mph. At first base, he can throw from different slots and starts the double play with a quick release and threw 71 mph across the infield.
