4.2.18 6-foot-3, 210-pound, strong, muscular, athletic frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a loose, quick arm swing. His fastball comes out clean and flashes steep angle at times. Started out 89-92 in the first, touching 93 once. Shows excellent feel to spin a sharp 11/5 curveball with tight rotation and depth, including throwing it the first pitch of the game for a swing and miss. The pitch was mostly 77-79 early but did climb up as high as 82. Only threw a handful of changeups at 77-79 mph. His fastball velocity held up throughout the game, climbing as high as 94 in the fourth inning, while his curveball was 81-82 in the same inning. Still touched 93 in the sixth, and 90 in the seventh. When he would slide step from the stretch, he dipped down to 85 and 87 only a couple of times, with his curveball coming in at 74-75, but with a higher leg kick he generates more tilt and life on both pitches. Worked around six errors, allowing only two unearned runs, while striking out 12. Has a natural athleticism and feel for the ball, can pitch to both sides of the plate and spin the curveball whenever he wants. A two-way player and right-handed hitter, Woods-Richardson is also an accomplished hitter. He went 2-for-2 with a single and an RBI double, both balls were scorched. Was intentionally walked twice, including in the seventh inning, putting the tying run on first.
08.10.17 RHP/3B Simeon Woods-Richardson (Kempner HS, TX) is a big-time prospect on the mound, but he’s also an excellent athlete and is a noteworthy position player. He made a strong throw across the diamond on a tough play and then smoked a ball to right-center field, cruising into third base with long, easy strides.

08.09.17 -  RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson (Kempner HS, TX) pitched the final two innings and was electric, sitting 91-93 and touching 95, while mixing in a hammer curveball at 75-77. He allowed one hit and struck out three.

08.06.17 - Area Code Games -  RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson (Kempner HS, TX) pitched the final two innings and started with an immaculate inning, striking out three batters on nine pitches. He then struck out the first batter of his second inning on three pitches, making home 12-for-12 on strikes. Things quickly unraveled from there as he walked the next batter and proceeded to give up five runs on four hits. His fastball started out 90-94 and settled in at 90-91. His curveball was sharp at first with 11/5 shape and depth, but it got looser in the second inning. He also has feel for a changeup with sink and fade at 79.

04.03.17
Texas recruit. 6-foot-3, 210-pound, physically mature frame. Works from a high-¾ slot with an easy arm stroke, repeatable delivery with good rhythm and tempo. His fastball ranged from 88-91 mph, topping out at 93 mph. Works quickly between pitches and has outstanding fastball command. Excellent feel for slider, can throw it for a strike and bury it for a swing and miss. Strong competitor, pitches with attitude. High level pro-prospect.

03.03.17

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound, right-hander has a strong, athletic frame, working from a high-¾ slot with a loose, clean arm action and an easy, athletic delivery. In the first inning, Woods-Richardson's fastball sat 90-93 mph with downward tilt. He made quick work of Coppell's offense in the first two innings, retiring the Cowboys in order, striking out five.
Woods-Richardson shows an advanced feel for 4 pitches, with his fastball, changeup, curveball and slider. He has great command of his curveball at 72-74 mph with 11-5 shape, and is able to throw it for a strike to get ahead, and in even counts to keep hitters guessing. His slider has tighter spin and a later break at 75-77 mph, which he used mostly with two strikes. He throws an occasional changeup to left-handed hitters at 76-78 mph, this pitch has late arm-side fade and runs away from the left-handed hitters' barrel.
Woods-Richardson's fastball velocity settled into the 89-91 mph range in the third inning, holding consistently through six innings from both the windup and the stretch, with an occasional 87-88 sprinkled in. He was still touching 90 mph in the seventh inning as he struck out the last two Coppell batters he faced, tallying 16 total strikeouts on the day. His final line was 7 IP, 0 R, 2 BB, 2 H, 16 K.
Offensively, Woods-Richardson was 1-for-3 with a base hit to right field on a curveball. Hitting in the cleanup spot, the right-handed hitter has an athletic setup and strength in the barrell. Kempner has a formidable offense, with three division one recruits in the middle of the order.

03.02.17
Texas commit. Showed his versatility as a player starting at 3rd base and finishing the game at shortstop and showed smooth actions and rhythm.  The right-handed hitter made hard contact 3 out of 4 times with 2 RBI.  All around athletic player with a very high ceiling.

Area Code Games (Aug 2017)
6-foot-3, 198-pound, strong, projectable frame. In line delivery, high-3/4 slot with an in line delivery and easy arm action. Down angle on fastball at times. Started out 90-91, 92. Settled in at 88-90, still touched 92. 74-75 on 11-5 curveball.
