8/20/17 - 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, wiry athlete, sloped shoulders, room to fill out more in the upper body. Above average athleticism for the position, Tilton ran a 4.53 home-to-first. At the plate, he has a smooth, compact, lefty stroke. The bat path is level-up and Tilton appears under control at every step in the process. The feet are set shoulder width apart with a minor step into the swing. His hands work high up at the shoulders. They are quick and working well to deliver line drives to all fields. Power is developing but Tilton’s hit tool is present. He posted an 84 mph exit velocity off the tee. While he only collected a single during gameplay, he did connect with multiple line drives that were ultimately outs. As a catcher, Tilton showed off an arm velocity at 74 mph out of the chute. His pop times sat between 2.07-2.09. He has a quick first step and fluid transfer. Increasing arm strength will help improve those times. His best catching attributes are his ability to serve as a wall for all pitches in the dirt, as well as his talent for working with pitchers. He has the intangibles to succeed as well as many of the physical tools. Overall, Tilton should be on the roster of a collegiate team somewhere in 2019.

Home-First: 4.53

Exit Velocity: 84 MPH

Arm Velocity: 74 MPH

07.25.17 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound, still developing frame. Tilton has a natural, smooth, left-handed swing and starts from a neutral stance. Relaxed, short stride as he loads his hands, balance throughout his swing, head stays still as he transfers his weight. Fluid hand path, slight lift, finishes the barrel. Made hard, loud contact and showed gap approach with more power to come as he continues to develop. Defensively, he has in line footwork with a longer, clean exchange. Threw 74 mph from the crouch, throws were on line with bag, but most came up short, pop times 2.22-2.33. Received well during the game, blocks with athleticism.

06.14.17 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound, still developing frame. Tilton has a natural, smooth, left-handed swing and starts from a neutral stance. Relaxed, short stride as he loads his hands, balance lower as he transfers his weight. Smooth hand path and finishes the barrel. Made hard, loud contact and showed gap approach with more power to come as he continues to develop. Hammered a couple of balls to the pull side gap. Defensively, Tilton received well during the game and is a hard-nosed player that blocks well. His pop times might have only been 2.25-2.29, but throws with accuracy, efficiency, and little to no effort in his arm stroke. Tilton does everything well, and has a lot of upside. His stock will rise as he adds strength to his frame. Also worth noting, Tilton was the last person to leave the field as he stayed to help pick up trash from the dugout.
