GRAND PRAIRIE, TX- Throughout the fall, PBR's staff will be on the road covering baseball across Texas. Games, workouts, practices, camps and more.  The "boots on the ground" philosophy of PBR is well represented with the coverage throughout the Fall of 2017. Here are the position players that stood out from Week 3 of the Metro Scout League.

Academy Select - Hayes

+ 2019 1B Anderson Acinger (Plano Senior HS) continues to punish the baseball this fall. The right-handed hitter tripled to right field, roped a fastball to deep right-centerfield, and tripled again to deep left-centerfield. This is the third week in a row that Acinger has shown elite hitting skills, the ability to use the whole field, handle off speed pitches, and hit with power.

+ College recruiters will want to keep an eye on 2019 OF Miles Page (Dallas Jesuit HS). Page appears larger, and stronger than his listed 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. On Sunday, the junior was 3-for-3 in QAB’s, with a triple to right-centerfield, a walk, and a well struck ground ball to shortstop.

+ 2019 IF Calvin Standt (Wakeland HS) showed the ability to handle the bat again on Sunday. In one at-bat, the left-handed hitter pulled a hanging breaking ball foul to the pull side on the barrel, then singled to the opposite field on a two-strike fastball.

Frozen Ropes

+ 2019 OF De Heath (Coppell HS) is a strong, athletic, right-handed hitting outfielder that demolished a couple of balls at Air Hogs Stadium on Sunday. Heath doubled off the wall to left field, made hard contact to third base on a curveball (4.22 home-first), then tripled to left field in his last at-bat.

+ 2019 OF Nick Vernars (Coppell HS) is a left-handed hitter with natural lift and power. He barrelled up four deep fly balls, two to centerfield, one to right field, and another to deep left.

+ 2020 OF Cooper Huspen (Allen HS) made two outstanding plays in centerfield. With two outs and the bases loaded, the batter sent a hard shot - low line drive right at Huspen in centerfield. With no hesitation, he charged in and dove full extension, catching the ball to end the inning. Later in the game he tracked down a sure triple that was hammered to right-centerfield, this time standing up. Huspen has an athletic frame and long strides, and continues to show why he is one of the top outfielders in the metroplex.

+ 2019 1B Kalen Clark (Coppell HS) was 2-for-3 with a single, and a double deep over the center-fielder’s head. 2019 C Kyle York (Lake Dallas HS) has loose hands and a fluid finish, he popped up to third base on a full hack and registered a hang time of 6.1-seconds. He also smoked a ball to deep left field.

+ Unsigned 2018 SS Ethan Mann (McKinney Boyd HS) has impressive instincts in the middle. He made several routine plays and singled twice to centerfield, driving in a run and stealing second and third base.

MSL 2018

+ 2019 IF Austin Hale (Southlake Carroll HS) has an athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 173-pounds. Hale showed a smooth left-handed swing with quick hands and strength at contact, collecting a double to right-centerfield and a triple to left-centerfield, running a 4.63 and 4.79 on the turn at first base.

+ 2018 SS Hunter Grimes (Kerville Tivy HS) has a young, projectable, athletic, high waisted frame. He is active between innings, fielding and throwing on the run and showing quick footwork and the ability to stay on the left side of the infield at the next level.

+ Unsigned 2018 C Zachary Tilton (Midland Christian Academy) has a smooth left-handed swing and collected two singles, both to right field. Tilton does everything well, including receiving and blocking, while also having a clean exchange on throws to second base, and will be a nice addition to a recruiting class. He is a high academic student with several visits scheduled to D1 academic schools.

D-BAT McGhee

+ 2019 SS Corley Donovan (Wakeland HS) is a quick-twitch athlete with loose hands and rhythm at the plate. 2019 C Anthony Ferrante (Midlothian HS). Donovan. Ferrante is an offensive catcher with good receiving skills and a strong 5-foot-10, 195-pound frame.
