Jake Berry, Clear Lake (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP/1B LHP: Easy and effortless delivery with some deception to it. Like his makeup. Doesn't mind challenging hitters with his stuff. Shows command of both FB and CB. FB sat 85-87 and T88 with ASR. CB sat 73-75 and had sweep and depth. Working on a CH as third pitch. Shows some feel and work ethic so will only improve. Possible split guy. Strong kid and stuff will continue to get better with maturity.
Body: 6-0, 195-pounds. Solid build/frame to add strength in future. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Delivery: Very easy delivery with good tempo. In place rock step with med leg lift. Good direction towards target and finishes over front leg. Has some deception to delivery.
Arm Action: LH. Full arm path with H3/4 slot. Arm speed present
FB: T88, 85-88 mph. Arm speed present with some ASR. FB plays up with slight deception to delivery. T2098, 1940 average rpm.
CB: 71-72 mph. Has command with CB. Shows both sweep and depth. 2 plane pitch with good spin. T2646, 2387 average rpm.

Berry features an easy delivery with an aggressive mindset. His fastball sat 85–87 mph with arm-side run. The breaking ball played as a slurve with sweep and depth, spinning at 2600 rpm. His delivery has some deception, making all pitches play up. He commanded both pitches well and is working to add a changeup to the arsenal.
Jake Berry, a talented sophomore lefty, has shown a lot of potential on the mound. His fastball sits between 84-87 mph, touching 88 at times, and it has a lot of arm-side run, making it tough for hitters to elevate. His breaking ball (71-72 mph) flashes real potential and has the ability to generate uncomfortable at-bats. With his ability to pitch to both sides of the plate, Berry is an arm to watch moving forward. As he gains more strength and refines his command, he could develop into a high-end prospect.
