A big frame with size and strength. Offensively he shows above avg hand speed with readings in the 24 mph range and upper 60’s bat speed. He fired the knob with quickness and his bat speed should improve as he learns to release the head much better. The EV’s of around 90, should jump as he squared the ball up more consistently. At the Top Prospect Games he was mis-hitting the barrel slightly, which kept his distance and EV from playing to its potential. He is direct to the baseball out front and may want to release the top hand for balance and to smooth out his path. But the hand speed is intriguing! Defensively shows soft hands hands and comfort on approach to the ball, and has arm strength and a quicker release thru the slot. He does have an unorthodox way of taking the ball out of the mitt to make his throws and it takes a second to get his throws off to the bases. Would suggest keeping his hands together and bringing them to the chest and then taking a shorter path to his arm path. But we have some things to work with here and with proper coaching and added focus on the nuances of his movement patterns, there is upside her to play with.
