Oozing physical projs with a tall skinny build and a fast arm. With size 14 shoes, there is 40 lbs easy on his frame to build in the next 3-4 years and give the “Lutes” an arm to dream on at the next level. There’s still some unfinished business to take care of as a senior, as Day has All-State potential and a clean fluid arm that can get the FB up to 88, after gaining almost 10 mph over the past calendar year! The CB shows depth and should add power to the pitch as he projs physically. Look for a big spring from Day as we keep tabs on his growth and future potential!

Day has a very projectable lean athletic build with long arms and legs with plenty of room to grow into his slight build. Offensively he needs to get his hands loaded from a dead hand approach. The hands don’t load and pull back to get any punch into the baseball. The bat speed needs to pick up and this the ball will jump better. There’s no use of the lower 1/2 into the hitting stroke, as it’s a rotational type swing that lacks barrel release, to fire the hands thru the zone. Defensively he showed soft hands, yet the feet are a bit slow on approach. The arm stroke is avg thru the release point, but cuts his follow through off out front and uses just the wrist to fire the baseball. Needs to continue to add strength and weight as he looks to build his body and skills to compete vs tougher competition.
