VA/DC State Games
Shaffner is 6-0 with a lankier athletic frame that has some strength present and a lot of projection left to it. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, long loose lightning quick arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are slightly uphill and closed, lands open with a fall off finish and some recoil. Fastball was 87-89, with some downward angle and a bit of late armside run to it, fastball spin got over 2500 rpm. Slider had good armspeed and was 76-78 with sharp hard 10/4 break to it, pitch showed swing and miss down, spin touched over 2600 rpm. Knuckleball was 61-62 with good armspeed and some hard dance to it. Also ran a 7.07 60 yard dash.
