Newman has a thin athletic frame with projection left and plenty of room to add strength. Rangy defender with ability to make plays on the run and an accurate arm across. Made two run throughs that he got around well and worked into the throw, as well as a backhanded play in the hole where he stuck the back foot and got the throw off with accuracy across. The arm strength is average, but it is a quick clean exchange with a quick release. At the plate the swing it contact driven with line drive gap to gap tendencies. Virginia Tech commit.
