Newell is 5-10 with a lanky athletic frame that has a lot of projection left to it. Shows some quickness in the outfield and average present arm strength but a loose arm action the chance to gain strength as he develops. Hits from the left side from an open stance, short stride in place, hands stay inside and are short and quick to the ball, level line drive swing, has some batspeed present with the chance to grow into power as he adds strength. A youngster to follow as he develops.
