Preseason All-State I

5-foot-9, 150-pound compact athletic frame. Pitches primarily from the stretch with weight set back. Pitches from two arm slots, a low three-quarter and a sidearm slot, showing feel for both. Slight drop and drive driving off of the backside towards home. Lands on line from both slots. Fastball sat at 78-80 and showed nice sinking action from the sidearm slot. Curveball had was tight and late sitting at 66-67 mph. Changeup was 66-68. Had a solid feel and command of the fastball from the sidearm slot and looked comfortable pitching there.

Meeks is 5-9 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short free arm action with some effort. Shoulders uphill and closed, lands on line with an athletic finish. Fastball was 75-78 with downward plane and boring action to it when thrown to armside. Curveball was 61-64 with 11-5 break and some armspeed. Slider was 63-65 with similar break and a bit sharper. Change-up was 64-67 with some armspeed and heavy fade to it.

12.3.16:  Meeks is 5-9 with an athletic frame, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot. Long arm action and normal effort. Shoulders are level and closed as strides to a slightly closed landing with an athletic finish. Fastball was 73-75 with heavy run. Change-up had good armspeed, running 66-68 with heavy run to it. Slider had late 10/4 action, running 62-63. Curveball had sharp 11/5 action and was 60-62. Good command of all his pitches. Hits from the right side from an athletic open stance. Short leg kick stride with a smooth load back, good rhythm. Good lower half and balance throughout swing. Longer path, works uphill with a pull approach, exit velocity was 75. Average footwork and average hands in the infield. Throws from low three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 74.
