6-foot-6, 225-pounds; more physically defined since our last look, added strength and trimmed out. Showed an advanced four-pitch mix and starter profile moving forward. In tempo drop/drive type delivery, rides the backside, open-toed landing and finishes with intent with adept body control for size. Long and loose arm path that finishes out of a slightly elevated ¾ slot. Fastball sat 90-91 mph throughout, spun at an average rate of 2,457 rpm and did flash above-average vertical traits, too. Mixed in a hard-running sinker that he spotted down in the zone with late action and life. Lowers slot on changeup, played best to the arm-side of the plate off the sinker at 83-85 mph. Spun two breaking balls at a near 2,600 rpm average. Slider was thrown with clear conviction and intent from a lower arm slot at 77-80 mph, bullet-type spin and tighter shape. Curveball played at 75-77 mph, spun off an 11/5 plane with occasional sharp spin and more depth than slider. Size, ceiling, and polish equate to an intriguing draft follow both now and in the future.
Marks has a taller frame, giving him a lot of room to grow into his mechanics. He moves well for his size – with above-average pelvis and trunk rotation velocity. Striding a bit further, and landing with a firmer front leg could yield huge dividends. Marks showed plus FB spin touching 2,446 rpm at 87.45 mph and is maximizing the spin which bodes with development and growth.
Marks was responsible for one of the day’s most impressive overall performances. Built at a sturdy/strong 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, Marks has genuine feel for four pitches, showcasing the ability to spot each at times, while the fastball and breaking balls feature high spin. He really gets down the mound, working on line, to produce an upper-80s fastball that sat 88-89 mph exclusively, reaching 90 max with natural arm-side run. The separators for Marks are his two breaking balls, a slider and curve, that each work a little differently and both break sharply with advanced spin rates, measured at an average of 2,305 and 2,441 rpm on average, respectively. The curve is 12/6 with tight/short action under the zone, while he demonstrates greater confidence in the slider, at more of an 11/5 shape that he was landing for strikes with frequency, still with biting action. He also utilizes a quality changeup, thrown at arm speed, that looks like a viable fourth pitch to round out a mix that should make Marks a high-follow uncommitted junior to know in the state.
6-foot-3, 210-pound right-hander; tall frame with thick/strong lower half. Marks put together a six-inning, 14-strikeout complete game on Friday – and he did not walk a batter. Marks was utilizing the slider first, a really sharp 72-75 mph offering with late bite, and he landed it for strikes when he wanted and tucked it low and away to righties for chases. The slider was spinning at an average of 2,300 RPM, too. The fastball was live through the zone, with arm-side action, mostly sitting in the 80-82 mph range, with the occasional tick below or above. Marks’ loose, quick arm speed and size have him as one of the breakout performers of the weekend.

Defense: Fields out in front in middle of body, moves towards target.
