Bauer is a muscular, twitchy 5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect in the state that has caught the attention of our staff over the past year-plus. At this event, Bauer showed us more of the same impactful right-handed contact that results in low-lying liners that he connects primarily to his pull-side. He measured a max exit speed of 95.8 mph, which is significant for his stature, class, and position, and Bauer also showcased as a smooth, quick-footed defender during infield evals. His explosive athleticism – 19.8 mph top speed – finds ways to influence the game often, and he’s a ranked member within the state’s Class of 2024 as a result.

We came away impressed with Bauer when we first saw him during the WIAA season as a key contributor to a quality Greendale team that was perennially nestled inside our Power 25 rankings. He’s a strong, wiry athlete with twitchy bat speed that flashed those tools in game, nearly leaving the yard in his first at-bat of the weekend. Defensively, Bauer started at shortstop and looked the part with athletic actions and soft hands that can potentially be an asset up the middle in the future.

During the second day of our PBR at The Rock 15u Championships, Bauer threw five competitive innings for PTA. Bauer attacked the corners of the zone with a 78-81 mph fastball and he continued to ride some early momentum created in the spring, where he played an important role for Greendale, a team that was perennially in our Power 25 rankings.

5-foot-5, 132 pounds; athletic, lean build. Stood out in pre-game for his smooth actions on defense. Quick hands and feet, moves well, rangy defender to both sides. Plays with a high baseball IQ, as evidenced by his vocal guidance on the field. At the plate, right-handed hitter, showed some bat speed in simple, fluid swing.
