Musolf continues to be a follow name on the bump inside Wisconsin’s sophomore class. We’ve gotten multiple looks at the 6-foot, 155-pound lanky right-hander over the last year, and his performance Sunday was his best to date. Musolf consistently pumped his heater in at 82-84 mph and it played with natural horizontal ride, averaging 18.7 inches of horizontal movement, per TrackMan. He showed off an improved changeup as well; an offering that plays well off his fastball, albeit from a lower average release angle.

Positional Profile: RHP/INF
Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Long, lean levers; wiry frame.
Delivery: Stretch-only; slight coil at high knee balance point, square shoulders. Drops and drives on line with level shoulders, square landing with toe open. Low-effort, athletic finish. Works at a smooth, easy tempo.
Arm Action: RH. Pronounced arm swing; long circle, loose to low 3/4 slot. Low average release height of 4.25 feet.
FB: T81, 79-80 mph. Arm slot creates large, natural arm-side run; average horizontal break of 16.3 inches.
CB: 65-69 mph. Similar arm slot and speed with gradual action; more sweeping break.
CH: 70-74 mph. Gains greater extension from a similar arm slot; similar movement profile as fastball helps it tunnel well.

Hit: RH. Wide/balanced base, hands set high; somewhat static start. Brief load back in arm bar, small leg lift in, strides back down to even. Long bat path through the zone; maintains balance throughout.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. Max exit speed of 88.0 mph and farthest batted ball travelled 333 feet.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Long, loose arm action from 3/4 slot; above-average arm strength.
Defense: Static at gather; high two-hand at funnel. Shuffles through exchange with pack at transfer. Plays through the ball.
Run: 7.07 runner in the 60. Efficient gait; quiet, athletic runner.

5-foot-11, 150 pounds; a loose-armed righty who touched 79 mph from a thin, slender frame. He was mostly 75-78 mph throughout and just by using the fastball almost exclusively, Musolf carved through the Midwest Halos White order. He scattered five hits and three walks to earn a six-inning shutout, striking out six overall.

5-foot-11, 150 pounds; lean frame with long levers. Right-handed pitcher with long, loose arm action from a high ¾ slot. Started for PBA in the team’s narrow 3-2 loss to Chicago Elite; did not allow an earned run in his five innings of work, and gave up just three hits and three walks, while striking out eight.
