Moderate arm swing while showing no restrictions; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 83 MPH, while sitting 80-82 MPH; arm side run. CB: 64-65 MPH; showed depth.
Physical: 6-foot-2, 160 pounds; Athletic, long build. 7.08 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a moderate swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 98 MPH via Trackman. Showed a middle of the field approach with good feel for the barrel.

The primary right-handed pitcher displayed an uber projectable 5-foot-11, 120-pound frame with room to add strength as he matures. The righty used an up-tempo delivery with hip swivel and a high leg kick to command 70-71 mph fastballs down in the zone. Mixed in a 55-56 mph curveball showing 11/5 shape and countered with a 53-54 mph changeup thrown with below-average arm-speed. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a leg-kick to initiate his swing. Generated a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone with length in the swing creating occasional pull-side lift during batting practice. Hit behind the ball well allowing for hard contact to the left-side. Recorded a 75 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 5.13 home-to-first. The shortstop featured a moderately low center of gravity and long strides allowing for some range to the glove hand side. Registered a 60 mph arm-strength from his position out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
Young developing player initiates swing from slightly open set up with short stride staying open. McDonald achieves adequate separation with solid balance and leverage. There is back elbow leak in front of hands lending to drag. Impending strength gains should result in markedly improved bat speed.
Defensively, Shows commitment to gaining ground on and following throws. Benefit would be gained from out front and bottom up.
On he mound working out of mid 3/4 arm slot McDonaldshows ability to repeat his delivery while displaying a long, loose arm action. There is tendency to crunch with reduction of height in balance point. Lower half is incorporated well into delivery for young player. Benefit would be gained from staying tall in balance point.
