Ray Williams: 3B/RHP, (2024) Cabell Midland, WV. 5-foot-7, 170-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 89 mph. Starts in an open athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was electric, and used an upward swing plane. Athletic in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 77 mph; had athletic developing footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic.

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Aggressive swinger with a high engine. does not get cheated up there. Path plays for natural lift and he has a ton of tools to do damage.

Field: In the infield he plays with a quick first step and above average lateral mobility. Very sure-handed.

Field: Smooth footwork that transitions well into throw. Glove flashes at times.
Throw: 73mph infield velo.

Swing Mechanics: Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Goes with a smooth load that creates a balanced launch.
Hit: Explosive swing for his age. Ball jumps off his bat. Natural loft allows for easy lift and power to all fields. One of the top hit tools we saw on the day.
Power: Advanced pop for class.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Field: Solid defender in the infield. Athleticism shows. Worked out at third base so team must have a talented shortstop because he has an impressive skill set with the glove as well.
Throw: Arm works/ball comes out well. Enough are for all three skill spots.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Sits into back leg and drives to the plate with a slow and tight but smooth arm action.

Fastball: 70-73mph. Shows ability to locate on the corners of the plate some of the time.

Curveball: 58-59mph. Near 12/6 movement with more depth over action.

Changeup: 62-63mph. Slight arm side drop. least utilized offering.

Pitchability: Average pitchability locating in the zone some of the time.

Took the type of BP that makes scouts put down their pencil and just watch. Everything about swing is a bit different from the rest in a good way. Natural tools are obvious in ball explodes off his bat. Unrivaled pop for his class at this stage. Looks comfortable and athletic in the outfield. Obvious feel for the spot. Above average defender with a strong arm. Also worked out in the infield. An aggressive defender with athletic actions on the move. Ball skills are there. Only area of improvement would be to create angles prior to fielding.
