Scouting Report

Position: OF/LHP

Body: 6-foot-3, 215-pound athletic  physical frame.

Hit: (LHH) Began in a balanced quiet stance with a smooth load, then used a small leg kick. Electric bat speed. Good extension on his finish, loose upward swing. Gap to gap approach.

Power: 100 mph exit velocity, average 93.74 mph. 75.68 mph bat speed average. 23.32 mph hand speed average. 2nd best ev of the day.

Defense:  (OF) Smooth footwork, quick exchange. Confident. Shows to the side glove work.

Arm: 92 mph outfield velocity. Short arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.

OF Coleman Mizell (2023, Alabama) is a physical freak that continues to show a short path to contact with plenty of juice off the barrel. There is not a ton of movement in the setup as Mizell shows a very solid, simplified approach and simply lets the present strength in the hands work through contact. The barrel stays on plane well through contact and the swing is synched up well. The entire approach is simple, yet powerful. Although nursing a small ankle issue, Mizell had no problem showing the speed tool once on the bases with a stolen base to help lengthen the Tiger lead. Although very advanced now, Mizell still has a ton of projection down the road.

'23 OF Coleman Mizell (Alabama), a former Future Gamer and University of Alabama recruit, just continues to show an impressive hit tool from the left side. Just days out of basketball, the sophomore outfielder had two at-bats and both resulted in hammered balls off the bat. The first at-bat tied things up at 2-2 in the sixth inning of Game 1 has he stayed back on a ball and served it to left field. In Game 2, Mizell again came off the bench to pinch hit and really showed an advanced approach and kept his hands inside of a two strike pitch and smoked a ball over the center fielder for a RBI double. Mizell has unlimited juice at the plate and is also a very good runner (6.83 laser), especially at his size (6-3, 205 lbs).
