Quick Hits: White Rock Tritons Scout Day

The White Rock Tritons were the first to get their scout day off the ground this year and we take a look below at some of the standouts that had themselves a day going through their evaluations. Quick hits offers a small glimpse of what we saw with their scout day videos attached as well.

ON THE HILL

Tyson Dias SS / RHP / Enver creek, BC / 2021

Report: A fast-twitch athletic all-around gamer, Dias as an RHP impressed on the day, working with a quick release and fastball that sat 86-88mph. Room to grow and add strength, Tyson is an intriguing follow at the college level at Three Rivers, who could easily be a low-90s guy by summer's end.

Leif Friedrich RHP / 3B / Surrey Christian, BC / 2023

Report: Leif has shown tremendous growth since we saw him in 2020, and it showcased well at the Tritons Scout Day. Freidrich, 2023, showed a quick arm and impressive off-speed that filled the zone.

Andrew Gillon RHP / OF / Panorama Ridge Secondary, BC / 2021

Report: Gillon, an uncommitted 2021, has been working hard on his craft and his athleticism, and the hard work has paid off. Andrew was 80-81 with his FB with some arm-side run and a late-breaking CB and CH with depth. A gamer who fills the zone with movement and change of speed.

TWO WAY GAME CHANGERS

Chase Marshall RHP / 1B / Earl Marriott, BC / 2022

Report: Chase was the top FB velocity (90mph) on the day and showed strong downhill movement with an impressive CB (72-74) and a rapidly improving CH (76-79). A future Huskie at UW, Chase also popped a 90mph EV and continues to showcase a solid pull-side approach with the ability to hit to all fields.

Daniel Orfaly RHP / OF / Elgin Park , BC / 2022

Report: Sneaky excellent get, Orfaly was impressive with all his actions from the plate, in the outfield, and on the mound. He ran a 6.95 60, had an 80 OF Velo with good feet, 90 EV on the tee, and an ability to locate three pitches for strikes with a top FB of 83mph. All-around dude.

Kole Turner 3B / RHP / Elgin Park , BC / 2021

Report: Kole looks the part of a middle infielder, currently plays shortstop, and it isn't out of reach for him to stay there in the future with good footwork and a strong arm. On the bump, Turner popped a handful of 89s with his FB and a SL (73-74) pair nicely. Kole is a hard-contact approach hitter (92 EV) that could see his power numbers rise with the improved athleticism.

AT THE PLATE

Trent Lenihan 3B / 1B / Earl Marriott , BC / 2021

Report: Lenihan can flat out hit, and I mean hit. During BP, he put on a show that had multiple bombs leaving the yard in a hurry. Big bodied at 6-4, 225, Trent has the potential to be an all-conference middle-of-the-order masher with continued refinement and high-level repetition.

Keanan LeClerc SS / RHP / Lord Tweedsmuir , BC / 2024

Report: LeClerc displayed some of the most quick-twitch potentials among his age group and will be an exciting player to follow going forward through his development. Keanan flashed the highest EV for his Class and top Rotational Acceleration via Blast. Athleticism and quickness define this fun young prospect.

Brady Wastila RHP / 3B / Delta, BC / 2022

Report: Wastila showed physicality and strength on the field to lift balls deep during his BP round. His simple swing generated some power as he brings his hands through fast. Bat path is short and flat, and he strides into the ball well before turning his hips.
