On Saturday, October 28th the PBR British Columbia staff hosted it's third showcase of the fall with the Vancouver Fall Open ID at Tourmaline West Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia. This event featured over 47 players from the across the province in the 2024 - 2027 classes and allowed our staff an opportunity to get an in-depth look at the players, as well as collect updated metrics via our tech partner TrackMan.

Earlier this week, we broke down the top measurable data performers from the event with our Statistical Analysis, Pitching Data Dive and Positional Data Dive. Now, we conclude our post-event coverage within this Quick Hits article as we provide scouting notes and reports on six standouts from the event.

Everett Bertsch RHP / C / Riverside, BC / 2025 The uncommitted two way out of Coquitlam had one of the better overall days in Vancouver. It started on the mound where he sat 85-86 mph with the fastball that had carry when up in the zone. Mixed in a tight slider with 2-plane break at 74-76 mph that he could spin north of 2300 rpm. He finished it off with a changeup at 77-78 mph with arm side run and late fading action. At the plate, he consistently worked back up the middle maintaining controlled aggression and reaching a max EV of 90.3 mph. Behind the dish, he had the top catching numbers. Collecting a POP time of 1.84 and catcher velocity of 79 mph. Logan Booth OF / RHP / GW GRaham, BC / 2025 Booth is a very intriguing outfielder product out of the Langley Blaze. With a 6’1 212 lb frame, the lefty bat is built to do damage at the plate. He showcased quick hands and solid torque starting from his lower half. The swing plane proved to be a gap to gap approach reaching exit velos as high as 92.8mph. Aside from his swing, Booth moved well in the outfield with a 7.03 60 yard dash and showed off arm strength at 85mph. Booth will be an exciting player to watch in the upcoming 2024 season. Evan Dugdale OF / RHP / Meadow Ridge, BC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 1 Arguably one of the top two way talents in BC, Dugdale led the way to the top of the ranks in multiple metrics at the Fall ID Open. The uncommitted RHP/OF had the top FB velo (87.3mph), exit velo (94.2mph), 60 yard dash (6.71) and tied Booth for OF velo (85mph). Beyond the metrics, Dugdale moved well in the OF with sound foot work and momentum through the ball. On the mound, the 2025 over the top arm was athletic with quick arm actions. Dugdale’s fastball ranged from 86.2-87.1mph with an average spin rate of 2434 rpm. There was tight sweeping action on his curveball with fade and depth on his changeup. Jake Fehr RHP / Sands, BC / 2025 One of the better bullpens on the day came from Fehr, a Delta Blue Jays product. He started with the fastball which sat 83-85 mph. He averaged 17.8 inches of IVB and added some slight cut to it to eliminate some arm side run and add to the carry on it. Fehr also possesses two effective secondary pitches. The slider, at 72-73 mph, averages -20.7 inches of HB and can spin it 2500+ rpm. The changeup pairs well with the fastball at 73-74 mph and has plenty of arm side run (21.4 inches of HB). It has late depth when down in the zone, inducing lots of ground balls and swing and miss. Maddock Day RHP / OF / École Salish , BC / 2024 Although Day won’t blow you away with velocity, it’s his pitch profiles that are the most impressive. His fastball, at 78-79 mph, has 22.7 inches of HB and just 4.2 inches of IVB. The changeup profiles similarly with slightly less HB at 18.1 inches. The curveball has two-plane break (-10.0 inches of IVB, -14.9 inches of HB) and plays well off the fastball out of the same arm slot sitting 67-69 mph. Mixing these 3 offerings effectively at the bottom of the zone will allow Day to generate weak contact and plenty of swing and miss. Nicklas Ohman LHP / 1B / Oak Bay, BC / 2024 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 2 An uncommitted 6’4 LHP product from the Victoria Eagles showed promising tools on the mound. Ohman filled the zone with a FB, CB, CH mix. His fastball was 82.1-83.9 and topped 84.6 with a 2249 rpm spin rate. The arm side run on the fastball was complimented well with his sweeping curveball low and in the strike zone. The curveball sat 70-73 with a 2409 rpm spin rate. Lastly, Ohmans changeup proved to be an effective ground ball pitch spinning at a 1692 rpm. His changeup sat 75-77, a 5-8 mph dip in velocity off his fastball. The big lefty had major success this fall and is trending in the right direction.
