Pitcher Analysis:  Best of the Best

Cole Winn, RHP/INF, Silver Creek High School (2018)
6-foot-1, 170 pounds. The Notre Dame commit was really impressive at our Top Prospect Games on August 6th and 7th, and also showed very well in last June's Junior Sunbelt Tournament for Team Colorado. Since last rankings, Winn's fastball has improved from 87-88 to an explosive 92 mph on multiple occassions at the Top Prospect Games, living at 90-91. Arm is loose and works extremely well with rest of his body. With his body and frame he projects to plus 95 mph easily. Armed with a wipeout slider at 76 mph with depth. Expect Winn to move up in the overall rankings as well.

Dalton Chandler, RHP, Lamar High School (2018)
A 6-foot-4, 225-pound right hand pitcher. Very deceptive delivery. Starting to grow into body. Starts off tall and square, and has a quick motion. Has a hitch when he separates hand from glove causing deception. More over the top now then high 3/4.  He lands in-line with the plate and falls off to the first base side on his finish. Fastball velocity has increased every time we have seen him, and now is consistently 86-87 touching 88.  Slider has good depth at 69 mph. Has some time to clean up some mechanics, and projects as a 90+ arm.

Parker Gregory, RHP/OF, Pine Creek High School (2019)
The 5-foot-11, 160 pound RHP has a nice loose arm from high 3/4 arm slot and repeatable delivery with a lot of projection. Fastball touched 85 mph at the Top Prospect Games with a solid 3-pitch mix. Curveball had nice late tilt at 69 mph, and change was same arm speed as fastball with fade at 72 mph. At the plate has a tall narrow stance, short stride, and quick hands through the hitting zone producing a 83 mph exit velo. From the OF threw 85 mph from right. Goes back on the ball well. Ran a 7.4 laser timed 60. Projects as a D-1 pitching prospect.

Best of the Rest Listed Alphabetically

Clayton Burke, RHP/3B, Mullen High School (2019)
6-foot-2, 205 pounds. Very simple and clean delivery with poise on the mound. Big presence for his age. Motion lulls you to sleep then brings a fastball at 80-82 mph touching 83 from an over the top arm slot. Arm is short on backside, hides it well, then it's on you. Lands inline to the plate then falls off to 1B. Curve had late 11/5 tilt at 68 mph.  Will be a high pitching prospect in our state. At the plate had a good weekend. Stands slightly open and tall. Loads hands back with short stride. Could gain a little more separation. Bottom hand finish. Gap to gap power. Registered a 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. At 3B has good feet for big kid. Arm velo was 72 mph across diamond from quick high 3/4 arm slot. Got behind the dish to catch and showcased a 1.9 pop-time off a coach. Ran a 8 flat laser timed 60.

Kailer Chance, RHP/OF, ThunderRidge (2019)
6-foot-2, 145 pounds. Very tall lanky projectable frame, and at only 145 pounds has room to get strength. Windup from stretch starts in a slight crouch. Short on back side, and comes from high 3/4 arm slot. Hides ball well. Does a good job getting chest out front. Lands in-line to plate then falls off to first. Stops arm in front of body which could decrease arm velocity. Fastball was 64-66 mph touching 67. Curveball was 57-58 mph. Like projectable frame.

Brady McClean, LHP/OF, Columbine High School (2020)
A 5-foot-9, 145-pound right hand hitting LHP/OF.  Stands slightly open with a slight crouch at the plate with short stride. Looks like he settles for contact at times when he could extend through the ball more through hitting zone.  Weight transfers forward and he hits off his front side. Registered a 77 mph exit velocity. In the field he is smooth through the ball and delivers an accurate ball to the bag. On the mound has polished mechanics for his age. Comes from a high 3/4 arm slot, is square and in-line with the plate with good extension out front.  Fastball was 74-75 mph. Ran a 7.9 laser timed 60.

Mitchell Morales, LHP/OF, Broomfield (2019)
6-foot, 155 pounds. Bats and throws left. Like the potential in his frame on the mound. Arm is loose. Comes from over the top, but if he squares shoulders up more could come from a nasty 3/4 arm slot. Fastball was 80-81 mph touching 82. Motion is simple and effortless. Curveball was 1/7 shape at 68 mph. At the plate has some extra movement. Strides back with a toe tap. Hands get through the hitting zone for gap to gap power. Registered a 82 mph exit velo off tee. Over rotates back side at times. In the OF showed off same loose arm throwing 82 mph with accuracy from right to 3B. Ran a 7.4 laser timed 60.

Harry Paul, LHP/OF, Fairview High School, (2018)
A 5-foot-8, 145-pound left handed pitcher. Definition of crafty lefty. Strike thrower and everything he throws seems to sink or fade. He has an easy motion that is fluid to the plate.  Stands tall then crouches in balance point. Lands inline. Falls off to 3B. Arm comes from a 3/4 arm slot.  Fastball improved to 73 mph touching 74.  He also showed a 60 MPH curve and his best pitch is a 61 MPH change with good downward action. Continues to improve everytime we see him.

Lucas Quezada, RHP, Denver School of the Arts (2020)
A 6-foot-0, 170-pound left hand hitting RHP.  On the mound he stands tall and gets good very good leg drive to the plate, and very good extension. He throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Fastball lived between 81-83 mph touching 84, but seems faster. Curveball was 63-65 touching 66 with late break. Could be the top pitching prospect in the 2020 class in Colorado.  At the plate he hits from a crouched stance with a long stride for timing.  He shows good pull power and good bat control through the zone. Registered a 84 mph exit velo off the tee. Ran a 8.5 laser timed 60.

Tyler Richardson, LHP, Elizabeth High School (2019)
6-foot, 155 pounds. Nice projectable frame. Arm works well with body. Is loose. Comes from a short back side where he hides the ball and then arm is fast. Gets good leg drive and throws off two feet. Falls towards 3B side. Fastball was 77-79 mph touching 80. Polished looking lefty for his age. Curveball was 68 mph with good late break. Nice 2019 in our state to follow.

Kellan Voggesser, RHP/OF, Fort Collins High School (2019)
A 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Bats and throws right. Love his frame at 6-foot-2. Long arm action, wraps back, throws from a high 3/4 arm angle. Simple delivery. Lands inline with the plate. Has a chance to add a lot more velocity. Fastball lived between 78-80 mph touching 81. Curveball was 64 mph with 10/4 shape. Tough on right handers. At the plate has a wide balanced stance. Load is short back, no stride.  Bat is level through the zone with good extension. Can jump at ball times. Hits on a firm front side. Gap to gap hitter. Produced a 73 mph exit velocity. In right field showed potential of a strong arm throwing 80 mph. Catches ball with one hand and delivers from same arm angle as on the mound. Rand a 7.5 laser timed 60.

Dillon Schroeder, LHP/1B, Grandview (2018)
6-foot, 175 pounds. Right handed hitter. Starting to grow more into his body. Really like his pace on the mound. Strike thrower who is starting to throw harder. Comes from a high 3/4 arm slot with very good leg drive towards mound. Lands inline to the plate and falls off to 3rd. Fastball lives at 72 touching 74. Curveball has gradual break at 2/8 shape away from left handed hitters. At the plate has good rhythm. Balanced stance, load and weight rock back with slight leg kick. Shows some power potential. Swing slightly uphill, and is gap to gap. Good extension through the ball and lower half rotates well. Registered a 79 mph exit velo off the tee. At first base shows good feet around the bag. Arm velo was 72 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.6 laser timed 60.
