2017 Recruiting Trail: A Couple of Two Way Players and a Projectable RHP Show Well Lately

This week’s recruiting trail article a couple of two way players who have been finding their stride lately, and a very interesting right handed pitcher who is projectable. All three of these players will make an A

Chase Scovill 2017, OF/RHP Episcopal HS

Scovill is 6-foot-2 180 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable frame. Chase has recently been touching 88 mph from the mound which shows he is getting stronger and fine-tuning his mechanics. This velocity is a fairly big jump in a short amount of time as his fastball was in the low 80’s only a couple of months ago. Chase seems to be somewhat of a late bloomer that, if he does not commit this summer or fall, may attract heavy interest in the spring, especially if he is touching 90 by then.

James Sunailitis 2017, SS/RHP George Jenkins HS

Sunailitis stands at 6-foot-2 175 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable body with strength. At the plate he is aggressive and the ball jumps off his bat well. On the mound he is very confident and has a fairly easy arm action and delivery. He can throw strikes from multiple arm angles and runs his fastball up to 85 mph with a good 66 mph 12/6 curveball. James could be a legit two way guy at the next level.

Anthony Espinal 2017, RHP Sarasota HS

Espinal is 6-foot-3 195 pounds with a tall, lean, and projectable frame with loose actions and a loose arm. He has long arms that make his 86-88 mph fastball seem harder. He also has a decent 75 mph curveball and uses his lower half well. More velocity will come with strength and maturity.
