TOP PROSPECTs

Albert ChoiAlbert Choi, 2019, OF, Downingtown East HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitter's game changing foot speed was on display all weekend. Choi ran an event best 6.59 60-yard dash on a relatively slow track. He also ran a laser timed 6.48 indoors at the Preseason All-State Showcase in January. Choi's foot speed also translates well to game play as evidenced by his 4.03 trip down the first base line on an infield single and his stand up triple on a ball hit down the left field line. Currently uncommitted, Choi showcased a line drive approach while barreling the baseball consistently to all fields during game action over two days. Choi was also among the leaders at the event in arm strength (88 mph from the outfield) and bat exit velocity (88 mph).

Gino MarraGino Marra, 2019, LHP, Plum HS (PA)
Don't let Marra's 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame fool you. He can pitch and he is a bulldog on the mound. The uncommitted lefty sat 80-84 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with an up tempo delivery and a quick arm. Marra's four seam fastball showed cutting action at 83-84 while his two seamer had arm-side run at 80-81. Marra also effectively mixes his curveball with 1/7 rotation at 67-70 and his changeup at 75-76 that has late sink. Marra yielded two hits over three innings of work while striking out seven. While additional velocity is possible, significant gains are not. With that said, Marra will be able to compete early in the right college program with three effective pitches and the ability to command all three to both sides of the plate.
