Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

The 2021 Florida ProCase is coming soon, this Wednesday June 2nd at IMG Academy. The event will feature some of the top 2021 and 2022 Draft prospects throughout the state of Florida and Puerto Rico. This year’s event will be broken down into two sessions, with Team’s 1 and 2 going through a showcase followed by a game in the morning, and Team’s 3 and 4 doing the same in the afternoon.

The Florida ProCase has become a staple of PBR’s Draft coverage in Florida. With top picks like Mason Denaburg, Freddy Tarnok, Tyler Callihan, and Jackson Miller all having attended in the past, as well as Tommy White, Jud Fabian, Jay Allen, Rene Lastres, and more who should hear their names called this July. The 2021 Florida ProCase gives scouts a last look at some of the top 2021 players in the state as well as a head start on the 2022 class. Today, we will preview who all will be attending the 2021 Florida ProCase, an event that continues to bring forward some of the best talent in the state.

Starting with the arms. We have a high level of 2021 and 2022 arms in attendance this year. Ryan Fry (Miami), Luis Rujano (USF), Isaac Williams (Jacksonville), Fulton Lockhart (USF), Ryan Slattery (Pitt), Dawson Ball (FAU), Jack Owens (Stetson), and Jacob Smith (Pacific) make up our committed right-handers. Alex Walsh (Texas Tech), Ashton Crowther (Miami), and Josh Cone (Stetson) make up our committed left handers. We have a good group of uncommitted arms in attendance that coaches should keep an eye on in RHPs Tyler Williams and Nathan Tinder as well as LHP Jose Velez.

Behind the plate, the talent is tremendous in these 2022 catchers. FSU commit Santiago Ordonez leads the way as our highest ranked catcher in attendance. Dean Guzman (Stetson), Kristian Noriega (Miami), and Schyler Arroyo (Bethune-Cookman) round out our committed catchers in attendance. Two uncommitted catchers to follow in attendance are Broc Parmer and Hunter Miller.

The corner infield is headlined by two of the top five prospects in the state in 3B Sal Stewart (Vandy) and 1B/RHP Yoel Tejeda Jr. (Florida). Also at first base are two top uncommitted 2022s in Simon Kohn and Chase Ingram. We have a loaded group of 3B in attendance with Stewart, Adrian Dominguez (Miami), Derek Bermudez (NC State), Jason Torres (Miami), Brett Blair (Stanford), Christian Soto (FIU), Dominic Scavone (Stetson), and uncommitted Connor Fosnow.

The middle infield is another talented group of second baseman and shortstops. At second base we have Matt Rose (USF), Cameron King (Bethune-Cookman), Jorge Acevedo (Nova), and James Oman (Butler) in attendance. At shortstop we have Marek Houston (Wake Forest), Eddie-Boe Rodriguez (FGCU), Finn Howell (UNF), Kyle Marti (Erskine), Bryant Zayas (NC State), Logan Smith (FGCU), Irvin Murr III (Ranger JC), and uncommitted Rene Ramirez, Johnnie Lopez, and Danny Baez.

Rounding out the ProCase roster is a talented group of outfielders. Jameson Caro (FIU), Miles Curley (ECU), Jack Cue (LA Tech), Jakobi Davis (Cornell), Freddy Oquendo (FIU), Abdriel Delgado (Jacksonville), AJ Nessler (Pitt), and Ray Bermudez (Miami) make up our committed outfielders. Damian Ortiz and Jorge Cartagena make up the uncommitted outfielders.

We are excited for the event with a good group of talented players. Follow along on Twitter @PBRFlorida for all the coverage of the ProCase. CLICK HERE to view the full roster.
