David Seifert
Director of College Scouting

The Director of College Scouting at Prep Baseball Report and D1Baseball.com, David Seifert, helped ignite our 2024 MLB Draft coverage by traveling to Hoover, Ala., to take in this year's East Coast Pro event, which precedes the Area Code Games out west where our own Shooter Hunt is stationed currently, witnessing the underclass portion of the event. Seifert will be breaking down the top takeaways from each day of ECP, with the Day Two coverage below, and if you missed Day One's coverage, click here to view that story.

Each of the prospects listed below are members of the Class of 2024. Now, onto Day Two coverage…

DAY TWO, QUICK HITS:

Dodgers 8, Braves 2

– LHP William Kirk (Ramsey HS, NJ; Virginia commit) tossed a quick 1-2-3 top of the first, recording all of his outs with a deceptive 77-78 mph changeup. He continued to deal in his second inning of work, blowing a 88-90 mph fastball past the leadoff hitter for a strikeout, then battled Ty Head (Windermere HS, FL; NC State) to a nine-pitch at-bat before pulling the string once again to Head looking at an inside changeup for the called strikeout. The 6-foot-3 Virginia commit topped at 90 mph with his fastball while adding an occasional 77-78 mph slider which spun up to 2,515 rpm. It’s a near average pitch now that will only improve in the future. Kirk faced nine batters in three innings and retired all of them in order, including six via the strikeout.
