Delgado, Pena, Scott and Jude Homer as Calvary wins 10-3

Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

The powerful and deep offense shined and Skylar Gonzalez dominated in a 10-3 win for Calvary Christian over North Broward Prep.  Gonzalez worked mostly 83-85 mph with his fastball all night, but kept the pitch down in the zone for the most part. He was extremely effective keeping hitters off balance with a slider a 71-74 and a changeup at 79-81, both of which he would throw anytime. Gonzalez finished the day going 6+ innings, allowing three runs on four hits while eight and at one point retiring ten consecutive hitters.

Calvary would jump out to an early lead thanks to a two-run home run by Raynel Delgado, followed by a solo shot from Roberto Pena. The offense would then explode for four more in the fifth thanks to a grand slam from David Judge and shut the door in the sixth with a home run from Christian Scott.

Logan Clyatt would record two of the four hits for North Broward on the evening. This included driving in two of their three runs with an RBI single in the first and a solo home run in the seventh.
