The PBR ProCase has been a staple of the Prep Baseball Report's pro coverage over the last 17 years. The event has become one of the more high-powered pro showcases in the state and has seen multiple high draft picks in year’s past. There have been four players drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB Draft to have attended the Florida ProCase in previous years. The biggest of them all was Mason Denaburg, who was taken in the 1st round of the 2018 draft by the Washington Nationals. Another ProCase alum was Freddy Tarnok. He was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 3rd round of the 2017 draft. Sam McMillan attended the first Florida ProCase in 2016. He was selected in the 5th round of the 2017 draft by the Detroit Tigers. And just last year, Tyler Callihan was selected in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

The 2020 Florida ProCase will take place Friday, May 29th at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona, Florida. The event will feature a pro-style workout followed by simulated gameplay that we will be broadcasting live on Twitter. Continuing today, we will be spotlighting some of the players that will be in attendance at the 2020 Florida ProCase.

If you still wish to attend the 2020 Florida ProCase you can request your invite and register HERE.

Scouting Report

8/22/19

An elite, athletic glove in the middle infield and showed the ability to handle the bat a little bit. 6.96 runner. Low stance with a progressive load. Barreled balls all week with good lower half and some present bat speed. Good backside ability in the left-handed swing, letting the ball get deep and trusting his quick hands. Had one of the more memorable at bats, staying alive fouling pitches off, then smashing the ball right back to the pitcher who made an unbelievable reaction snag. Actions at SS are really smooth with an average arm at 78. The hands are his best tool and will play at the next level. Registered an 86 mph exit velocity.

6/14/19

Uncommitted 2021, athletic shortstop, 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Above average defender. Moves athletically at short. Discipline at the plate. Little bit of a long stride but keeps hands inside the ball. Lots of upside.

6/02/19

Uncommitted 2021 Jake was able to showcase smooth range at shortstop with a strong arm across the infield. At the plate, Jake showed gap-to-gap power with a base-clearing triple.

2/12/19

Slender athletic build with plenty of physical maturity to come. A very projectable 5-foot-11, 155 pounds. Defensively, the actions are advanced for his class. Still growing into his body, but showed natural feel, quality first step, lateral range and rhythm through the ball. Actions project to be an above average defender.  At the plate, the left handed hitter uses his hands well, throwing them directly to the ball no matter where it is in the zone. There is rotational action in the swing, but really stays in the zone a long time and shows advanced feel for the barrel, consistently hitting the ball hard in BP. Overall the is a lot of upside all around.

6/23/18

Uncommitted. Currently stands at 5-foot-10, 150 pounds on a lean, athletic frame. There is big projection in the athletic action and frame. Offensively, he has a toe tap load which shortens the stride at times. He overcomes athletically with loose wrists, working out over the front foot with present bat speed and leverage. Can see having power as he matures and learns to use his lower half. Defensively, he has rangy, fluid action. There is function athleticism with a quick first step and range to glove and hand sides. He shows an advanced feel and big upside all around.
