Leasure Helps Riverview Defeat Bloomingdale

Last night, the Bloomingdale Bulls visited the Riverview Sharks in a matchup that featured a great pitching performance and a deciding home run that would end with the home team coming out on top 2-0.

Starting pitcher and eventual winner 2016 RHP/SS Jordan Leasure (Riverview HS, FL) sat 86-88 mph with his fastball with good movement and mixed in a 72-75 curveball with sharp action and depth. The Tampa recruit pounded the strike zone as he worked quickly and competed on the mound all night. The Bloomingdale lineup seemed to have no answers as Leasure got deeper into the game and started to pick up strikeouts as his curveball really complemented his fastball.

In the bottom of the fourth still deadlocked at 0-0, 2017 1B Darius Stribling (Riverview HS, FL) got a hold of one and crushed a deep two-run home run over the left field wall to put the Sharks ahead. This home run would prove to be all that the home team needed as Leasure would keep the Bulls off the board and leave after throwing six innings with eight strikeouts, scattering five hits, and allowing no runs.

2017 RHP/SS Freddy Tarnok (Riverview HS, FL) would come in to close for the save in the seventh as he exclusively used his fastball that sat 87-89, touching 90. After striking out the first batter he gave up a single, only to then force the next batter to ground into a game-ending double play. Riverview would defeat Bloomingdale 2-0.
