MOKAN Fall Trials: Outfield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri/Kansas held the MOKAN Fall Trials on October 28 at the Urban Youth Academy in Kansas City, Missouri.  Over 40 players in Missouri and Kansas in the 2022 to 2019 classes attended.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.

Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Outfielders

Kade Biellier LHP / OF / Willard, MO / 2022

Biellier is a 5-foot-9 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class.  He ran a 7.70 60 and a 4.40 home to first.  He has a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with an open stance, smooth load with toe tap to in line stride, level path, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 79 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, high three quarters arm slot, controlled momentum through the catch with clean exchange, mostly accurate throws.

Anthony Boyer OF / 2B / Blue Springs , MO / 2022

Boyer is a 5-foot-6 125-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2022 class. Boyer ran a 7.52 60 and a 4.94 home to first.  He has a 70 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in balanced set up, sigh weight shift to load with load in hands, short in line stride, hands manipulate the bat head, feel for barrel, mostly pull side contact.  In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, quick to ball with momentum created by feet after the catch, clean transfer, mostly accurate throws, 69 mph positional velocity, watch for increase as he continues to develop physically.

Calvin Delich OF / SS / Iola , KS / 2020

Delich is a 5-foot-10 160-pound switch hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class. He ran a 7.03 60 and a 4.26 home to first.  He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a wide base, loads against back side with leg lift, in line stride, similar stance and load from both sides of the plate, had feel for barrel from both sides, gap to gap approach from the left side with more pull side contact on the right side.  In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, fluid footwork though the ball with clean transfers, mostly accurate throws.

Kyron Fergus OF / LHP / Piper, KS / 2021

Fergus is a 5-foot-8 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.39 60 and a 4.27 home to first.  He has a 75 mph exit velocity. At the plate, short and compact swing, starts in a tall and thin stance, controlled leg kick, short stride, loose hands generate quick bat speed, mostly middle to pull side contact during hitting evals. In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm slot, controlled actions with smooth glove to hand transfer, feet work behind and through the ball, mostly accurate throws.

Tanner Hanke OF / SS / Staley, MO / 2020

Hanke is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.46 home to first and a 7.06 60.  He had an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a tall stance with a controlled load, leg lift and short stride, aggressive swing with quick bats speed, slight lift to bat path, mostly middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 86 mph positional velocity, loose over the top arm slot, arm works, throws downhill, fluid actions to gain momentum through the catch, mostly accurate throws, some with carry to the bag.

Korey Holmberg OF / OF / Hutchinson, KS / 2019

Holmberg is a 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 6.81 60 and a 4.39 home to first.  He has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in wide base, some hand load with minimal stride, level path through the zone with high finish in hands, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 68 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, footwork creates momentum after the catch, clean transfer and throw, mostly accurate throws.

Brock McCollough OF / OF / Maize, KS / 2021

McCollough is a 5-foot-10 159-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He Ran 6.78 60 and a 4.41 home to first.  He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, hands separate from stride, no wasted movement, level bat path, hands work inside the ball, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, quick to the ball with a quick glove to hand transfer, feet create momentum through the catch, mostly accurate throws.

Matt Miller SS / OF / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2020

Miller is a 5-foot-11 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class. Miller ran a 6.90 60 and a 4.41 home to first.  He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, slight pre-swing rhythm with accelerated hands, hands work inside the ball, quick bat speed, has feel for the barrel, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, aggressive the ball, loose high three quarters arms slot, clean exchange on time with fluid footwork, accurate thrower.

Collin Rabe OF / RHP / Wichita Collegiate , KS / 2020

Rabe is a long and lean 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class.  Rabe ran a 7.40 60 and a 4.72 home to first.  He has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced stance with slight pre-pitch rhythm in hands, short in line stride, level path, no wasted movement, body stays under control, consistent line drives gap to gap during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, fluid transfer with momentum through the catch, loose and easy arm action, mostly accurate throws.

Troy Wansing LHP / 1B / Staley, MO / 2021

Wansing is a 6-foot-3 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.36 60 and a4.69 home to first.  He has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, slight weight shift to back side with quiet hands to load, controlled leg kick, accelerates though contact, level and quick bat path, consistent line drives gap to gap during evals.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, quick the ball with quick transfer, footwork creates momentum to throw through the catch, mostly accurate throws.

Lucas Wilson LHP / OF / Shawnee Mission North, KS / 2019

Wilson is a 5-foot-9 150-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2019 class. Wilson ran a 7.03 60 and a 4.40 home to first.  He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance with minimal load, short stride, hands control the bat, gap to gap line drives, occasional pop to pull side.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velocity, aggressive to the ball, plays through the catch with momentum to throw, quick transfer, arm works from a high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throws.
