Pitching Dominates for Jesuit in 10-0 Win
April 6, 2023
Pitching was on display Wednesday night in Tampa as #4 Jesuit hosted Nature Coast. Ole Miss recruit Wes Mendes got the ball for Jesuit and was spectacular. The lefty sat 89-92 with his fastball and had all four pitches working. Mendes went only three innings due to a power outage but allowed no hits and struck out all nine batters he faced.

Jesuit got the scoring started in the second and never looked back. With two men on, a dropped third strike resulted in the first run. DJ Pirela followed up with a two RBI double to make it 3-0.
Two more runs scored in the third for Jesuit. Jake Kulikowski led off with a single followed by a Grant Jordan double. A wild pitch and fielder’s choice would make it 5-0.
After a power outage, freshman Wilson Andersen came on in relief for Jesuit. He sat 90-92 with a swing and miss curve. Andersen pitched two innings allowing no runs, no hits, and five strikeouts.
Wilson Andersen ‘26 (FL) continues to be a MUST follow in the 2026 class.

In the fifth, Jesuit would put this one to bed. Clay Thompson sac fly and Jake Kulikowski RBI single would make it 10-0 and that is where the game would finish.
#4 Jesuit dominates 10-0 in five innings.
