In multiple looks this spring, Andersen has the making to be a power arm in the 2026 class. Athletic and projectable at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. It's a quick arm with minimal effort and the fastball gets onto batters in a hurry. Already up to 92 mph as a freshman, and only going to increase as he adds more weight. Breaking ball is average at this moment, spinning around 2500 rpm. I can see the continued development of that pitch becoming above average which will continue to elevate Andersen's ceiling.
7/28/21
5-foot-11, 145-pound lanky slim build. Solid smooth in the box, Andersen clocked an exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in an athletic tall stance with a tight compact load, then used a short leg kick. Bat speed was quick, showed an upward loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Was able to create loud contact and found multiple barrels. Aggressive approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was registered at 81 mph; had sure consistent hands, athletic rhythmic footwork, and a quick clean exchange. Confident fluid in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 87 mph; shows consistent aggressive feet, sure consistent hands, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Had a high ¾ slot and a longer quick arm action with decent accuracy to the base. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.6. Smooth projectable on the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a very quick moderate arm action with quick above average arm speed. Stretch only type pitcher and shows decent effort. Showed athletic low balance point and even in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 80-82 mph; shows slight tailing action and command decent around the zone with tight movement. Showed command around the zone and gradual fading action on his changeup (69-71).
