Top 5 Breakdown
Jacob Lombard SS / 2B / GULLIVER PREPARATORY SCHOOL INC,, FL / 2026NPI 2023: Lombard, made a strong case for climbing to the top spot in coming years with his showing at the NPI. Uber athletic with a 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame that promises plenty of future physicality, the right-handed hitting shortstop looked the part as the most imposing hitter in the class. Staying behind the ball while quickly working the barrel endlessly through the zone, the near triple digit exit velocities that he produced to all fields screamed high upside and exciting potential. There is a quiet confidence to his approach at the plate, and it hardly takes any effort for his bat speed to be produced. On the infield he moves with the same confidence and grace, and his premium position profile already makes him a must-follow prospect in the class.

Brady Harris OF / SS / Trinity Christian Academy (JAX), FL / 2026Spring 2023: It’s somewhat rare to see many “what they look like” dudes in freshman classes, but Brady Harris is just that. The 2026 Florida commit has the potential to be a five-tool player, and is already flashing loud tools at 15 years old. Lean, yet strong 6-1 frame that oozes projection with advanced hands and lightning quick bat speed for the class. Attacks balls out front and will use an advanced, all-fields approach that allows him to do damage throughout the zone. shows ability to create big separation while using his lower-half extremely well, and could grow into real power potential as he matures. Already a sub-7.0 runner, but present foot speed and athleticism shows that speed will play a factor in his game going forward.
|
Wilson Andersen RHP / SS / Jesuit, FL / 2026Spring 2023: In multiple looks this spring, Andersen has the making to be a power arm in the 2026 class. Athletic and projectable at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. It's a quick arm with minimal effort and the fastball gets onto batters in a hurry. Already up to 92 mph as a freshman, and only going to increase as he adds more weight. Breaking ball is average at this moment, spinning around 2500 rpm. I can see the continued development of that pitch becoming above average which will continue to elevate Andersen's ceiling. |
Coleman Borthwick 3B / RHP / South Walton, FL / 2026NPI 2023: Borthwick, an Auburn recruit, was impossible to miss thanks to a hulking 6-foot-6, 240-pound frame that engulfs the batter’s box. A power-armed right-hander with an explosive, low 90s fastball, it was his right-handed stick that was most dominant in this look. A simple approach with a more direct path led by hands that remained compact to the frame, Borthwick went 7-for-10 on the week and looked the part of a major two-way talent. |
Lorenzo Laurel OF / 3B / Stoneman Douglas, FL / 2026NPI 2023: Hitterish to the fullest extent, Laurel’s presence in the box is nearly unmatched in this young class, and his powerful stroke is already one of the most dangerous. A right-handed bat with quick hands and intent to do damage in all counts, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound outfielder was routinely on time in all counts. Loading up onto the back side with a leg lift before moving with ease through contact, there is some lightning to the hands with eye-opening exit velocities. Look for the Florida recruit to be a mainstay as one of the top right-handed bats in the class. |
