OUTLOOK
The Stoneman Douglas Eagles come into the 2020 after losing six key members of their 2019 team. On the mound they lost Luke Schiltz (Texas Rangers), Kyle Yeoward (Stetson), and Kevin Heinrich (Arkansas) who combined to throw over 135 innings in 2019. The Eagles will look to their underclassmen to throw many key innings this upcoming season. Offensively, they lost three starters including Andrew Jenner (Winthrop) and Gabriel Cabrera (UCF), but their biggest loss is Hunter Fitz-Gerald (Florida Southern). Fitz-Gerald batted .515 with 9 HRs and 31 RBI in 2019 and was taken in the 33rd round by the Colorado Rockies. Returning on offense is Florida commit, Coby Mayo. Mayo batted .391 with 4 HRs and 21 RBI. Also returning are seniors Colin Flynn (UCF), Carter Brady (Charleston Southern), and Jhan Ledezma. The 2020 Stoneman Douglas Eagles will be a tough team to beat and expect to make another run at a state championship.
