10/20/18 - UCF commit. 6-foot-4, 190-pound long, lanky frame, athletically-built, room for additional weight. Offensively starts with a wide base, sits on back leg with weight pre-loaded back, short stride, gets to a balanced position on stride, remains balanced through contact. Some length to swing at-times, present bat speed, long frame creates leverage, natural loft, gap-to-gap approach with developing pull-side power.
03/16/18- UCF recruit. Long, lanky projectable frame. Really stacked on the backside offensively, but has present bat speed. Leverage with power potential. Would like to see him more upright, but there is high offensive potential.
1/26/18- Committed to University of Central Florida
10/15/17- 2020 RHP/INF Coby Mayo (Marjory Stomeman Douglas HS, FL) is all of 6-foot-4 and a lanky, long-limbed 170-pounds. He started for the Banditos Scout Team, and touched 86 in his first inning before settling in at 83-84 with his fastball. Mayo has a segmented delivery with a minor pause at his balance point before creating a downward plane from a high ¾ slot. Each of his fastballs featured cutting action, and he showed his best command to the outside corner while facing left-handed hitters. Mayo’s slider is a developing pitch that he used sparingly at 67-71. There is a lot to like about Mayo’s arm and frame, and the fact that he hit in the 4-hole for a stacked Banditos lineup, says a lot about his athleticism, so there is a likely chance that his velocity continues to make a jump.
