Sickle Gryphons Win 13-6 Over Riverview

Doug Freeman
Florida Scouting Director

Sickles would score in all but one inning in their 13-6 win over Riverview. Starting for the Gryphons was 2020 RHP Chase Centala. An uncommitted, stocky right-hander controlled the Riverview lineup for the majority of his five innings. Centala would allow three runs, two earned on seven hits while striking out seven. Sickles would score first thanks to an RBI single from Danny Bernstein. Riverview would answer in the second with back to back doubles from Reagan Jorgensen and Tyberius doubles and back to back singles from Cameroon Vigh and Matt Masse, scoring two.

A single from Josh Luther, a triple from Zane Terrance, a single from Tyler Green and a throwing error would give a 4-2 lead and they would not trail for the rest of the game. Every Gryphons hitter would reach base, with the offense being led by Zane Terrance who go 2-4 with an RBI and run scored.

The Riverview Sharks would attempt a comeback down 9-2 in the 5th. Led by USF recruit Dillon Besnier, who would homer in both the 5th and sixth innings, driving in three of the team's six runs. Sickles will take on Freedom Tuesday while Riverview will take on Bloomingdale.
