6/01/19

87-89 top 91. Changeup at 81 and flashes a plus breaking ball at 78. Athletic kid. Late life and good arm side run. Showed ability to pitch inside. Dominated through 2 and lost some command in the 3rd.

5/25/19- Has an athletic lanky frame coming in at 6-foot-1. 180 pounds, still has room for growth. Clean and loose arm action with some arm side sink and fastball sitting 88-90, slider 75-76 and changeup 80-81. Commands the ball low in the zone and throws all 3 pitches for strikes. Stays in line with delivery and moves athletically off the mound. Stays balanced and smooth with delivery as well, which lets him repeat it easily.

08/13/18- Committed to the University of South Florida.

08/04/18- Committing to South Florida shortly after the event, Centala was one of the more impressing arms for Team Florida. The strocky, strong right hander has a strong lower half and overall clean mechanically. The arm is action is clean, he gets to extension and works downhill with the fastball at 86-88 mph. He has shown more velocity in the past, but has a feel to pitch down in the zone, with present life and would expect to see the velocity continue to climb. The slider was his best secondary pitch, working at 77-79 mph with depth. Also, showed a feel for a changeup 77-78 mph. Centala would strike out four in his three innings of work and overall has the makings of a weekend arm at the next level.

05/15/18- Worked out of relief  and showed a nice jump in velocity as he sat 89-90 mph with his fastball while mixing in an 82 mph changeup and 76-77 mph slider that he threw for strikes. The uncommitted sophomore has a quick arm and looks to have leaned out over the past several months.

03/25/18- The stocky right-hander has a loose, whippy arm. Had some trouble with command, but when the fastball was down it had some late life. Would expect to see a jump in velocity as he continues to get stronger. Shows a feel for an above average changeup. The slider will need to improve, but the arm works and is an uncommitted follow.

03/14/17 - Stands at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds with a solid build. Threw out of the high slot with some downhill action. Fastball was mostly 80-81 mph, touched 82 along with a 70-73 mph slider with depth. Showed decent command of the zone, induced multiple ground outs. Falls off to the side a bit on his follow through. Also displayed an aggressive, quick pick-off move.

12/15/16- Stands at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds with a strong, athletic frame and a good lower half. Stood out during batting practice where he consistently ripped line drives back up the middle. Displayed the ability to come in on the ball well in the outfield.
