Unsigned Seniors - Orlando

Edgar Alvarez 3B / Boone, FL / 2019

A big, strong left handed infielder. Showed some power with a double off the right field wall. A feel for the barrel, there's some length and steepness in the swing, but has power projection.

Casey Daiss RHP / 1B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2019

Uncommitted. Big, strong frame standing at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. Defensively, he has solid all around actions at first. Offensively, there is some length, but shows pull side power. He has the most potential on the mound. The fastball didn’t have the same velocity, but overall has a better tempo and the arm work clean, free and easy, creating a natural downhill plane at 84-86 mph. Could benefit from a somewhat longer stride, but the feel for a curveball with depth at 75-79 mph. Overall, the arm works and has present feel with ability to have more velocity which makes him one of the top uncommitted 2019 arms in the state

Matthew DeVarona RHP / Windermere, FL / 2019

Stands at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds with a tall, projectable frame and long legs. Throws from the high ¾ slot with a repeatable delivery and a slight pause in his windup which creates some timing issues for batters. Works downhill. Fastball sat mostly in the 82-85 mph range along with a 77-78 mph changeup with some sink and a 66-68 mph slider. Lands out in front most times, but occasionally can fall off to the side on his follow through. With more utilization out of his lower half, he should see a jump in velocity. The projectable build and quick arm make him a good follow and should see a jump in velocity in the near future.

Christian Bernabe 3B / SS / Deland, FL / 2019

Loose lean athletic projectable body. Athletic infield actions with good hands. Loose arm that will get better with added strength. Good load and separation with a small leg kick at the plate. Aggressive approach with a loose quick bat. Swing has some length with some lift. Will have power as he physically matures.

Avery Jackson RHP / University Christian, FL / 2019

6-foot-3 150 pounds with a tall, lean, athletic, and projectable frame. Stays in line with a long, over the top arm action. Good lower half. 78-80 mph FB.

Angelo Garcia RHP / 3B / Hagerty, FL / 2019

9/24/16 - 6-foot, 160 pounds with a solid build and good lower half. Threw from a mostly over the top arm slot. Hides the ball. Fastball sat 80-82 mph and mixed in an above average curveball that had shape and depth at 66-68 mph. Forced a good amount of swings and misses and threw a high percentage of his pitches for strikes. Had eight strikeouts in five innings. Competes and goes after hitters.

Blaine Hogue SS / RHP / Deland, FL / 2019

Continues to fill out and looks to have added 10-15 pounds of muscle to an athletic, projectable frame. Defensively, he moves well with a feel for the position and sound all around actions in the middle. Offensively, he is balanced in the lower half. He can get rotational at times with a bit of a shouldered swing, but there is offensive potential and present bat speed. He showed the ability to consistently square the ball up hard from gap-to-gap in batting practice.
