Phil Kerber

Take an early look at eight infielders to remember for the upcoming Fall Upperclass Games On November 10th, hosted by Piedmont College. (Prospects highlighted have previously attended an event or were standouts at one of our many tournaments at LakePoint Sports.) To view the entire roster from this weekend's event, CLICK HERE

Sean Murphy, SS, Lanier, 2021
9/10/19 - 5-foot-10, 140 pounds. Hard-nosed player that hits out of the leadoff spot. Switch-hitting middle infielder with good actions in the infield. Stays light on feet and has sure hands. At the plate, battles well and can hit ball to all fields. Good IQ on bases.

Logan Hare, 3B/RHP, Habersham Central, 2021
9/21/19 - This was our second year seeing Hare at the Ozone scout day and Hare continues to impress with the bat. His set-up is balanced and does a good job of being on time and on balance. He has gotten stronger and showed improved bat-speed (86 mph) exit velocity.  Hare's balanced approach at the plate allows him to center baseballs with regularity.  Profiling as a corner player at the next level with a consistent bat.

Dillon Dankowski, 1B/3B, Denmark, 2021
9/25/19 - 6-foot-1, 195 pounds; thick build with strength throughout. Hits from tall, open stance. Tempo gather on load. Timing is on with front side. Has present power in bat and showed it to all fields. Physical bat to watch.

Jarrett Burney, SS/3B, North Gwinnett, 2020
7/24/19 - An athletic shortstop that can run, with soft hands and plenty of arm.  Burney has a chance to stay at shortstop and excel at the next level. Offensively he shows solid bat-speed and strength when he stays over his legs. Interesting looking uncommitted SS Prospect with plenty of unteachables.

Reece Chambers, 3B, Cherokee Bluff, 2021
10/4/19 - Thick build at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Impressed on the mound and at the plate over the weekend. Showed advanced hands in the infield and good carry on throws. Swung the bat with aggression. On the mound, showed feel for the zone, primarily using fastball to get outs. Fastball sat 82-84 with late tail through the zone. Solid arm that knows how to pitch.

Ashton Long, 1B, North Gwinnett, 2021
5/28/19 - 6-foot-4, 195-pound right-handed hitting first baseman and outfielder, long frame. Ran a 7.22 laser-timed 60. Offensively, open setup, leg kick timing trigger, starts hands on shoulder, loading back. Gap-to-gap type hitter, barrel works uphill, looks to elevate the ball, 83 mph exit velocity. Defensively, arm works short from a ¾ slot, kept throws around bag. Fields out front, funneling to midsection.

Ryan Mimbs, SS, East Laurens, 2021
9/29/19 - Mimbs shows an excellent build at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds.  Mimbs put of some of the best offensive measureless at the Deep South this year.  His 90 mph exit velocity was impressive and it showed up in the batters box also.  Mimbs has a nice easy stroke with good finish. He is straight away and direct with a strong ability to get on plane with the baseball.  Defensively Mimbs plays a little upright, but his hands work and he shows an accurate arm.  Mimbs has a strong corner profile at the next level with serious offensive upside to deliver on.

Cam Suto, 1B, Union Grove, 2021
10/4/19 - 6-foot-2, 165 pounds; raw, untapped build that has plenty of room for additional development. Loose hands with plenty of rhythm going into load. Leg-kick timing. Very level barrel path allowing for constant contact. Showed he can spray the ball to all parts. Good runner. Very interesting player to watch develop in the 2020 class.
