Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
5-foot-10, 175-pound right-handed two-way prospect, thick frame with strength throughout, has made gains in overall physique. Offensively, balanced setup with a bend in his knees, high hands load back to a near arm bar, short stride, remains balanced. Takes a power approach at the plate using mainly his upper body in his swing, barrel path is short to the ball and generates loft, 86 exit velocity off a tee. Went 2-for-2 in-game with a home run in his first at-bat and a single in his second, also collected a stolen base. Defensively, profiles as a third baseman, arm is long and loose to an over-the-top spot, has good feel and was routinely accurate on throws across the diamond, topping out at 79. Plays through the ball with fluid footwork, gets his feet working directionally towards the target, clean on exchanges. On the mound, arm action is clean to an over-the-top slot, quick acceleration through release. Drop and drive delivery, smooth rhythm, shoulders work uphill at-times, stays on-line, lands square, finishes crossing over. Fastball flashed cut action, 80-82, touched 83. Curveball, 12/6 shape, tight break, 68-70. Struck out two of the four batters he faced.

This was our second year seeing Hare at the Ozone scout day and Hare continues to impress with the bat. His set-up is balanced and does a good job of being on time and on balance. He has gotten stronger and showed improved bat-speed (86 mph) exit velocity. Hare's balanced approach at the plate allows him to center baseballs with regularity. Profiling as a corner player at the next level with a consistent bat.

Hare is a young 2021 third-base prospect from Habersham Central. He stands in at 5-foot-7 170-pounds. Hare starts with a slightly open stance and only needs a suttle stride to get closed. Hare has a nice high finish to his stroke and shows solid bat-speed. But does not stay through the baseball as well as he needs too, cutting himself off and not keeping his barrel in the zone long enough. If Hare can stay on plane longer with he barrel he will produce more consistent contact. Defensively Hare catches what he get too, but needs to work on his flexibility and not bending so much at the waist.
