River Ridge v Alexander (4.27.22)
Cole Eison, OF, Alexander, 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-9, 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, lean athlete, hit out of the leadoff spot. Aggressive and energetic throughout. Intent behind his swing. Loads hands deep into a power position and uses a leg kick timing trigger. Pull-side approach, creates hard contact. Hard runner, looks to put pressure on the defense with his legs. Covers good ground in center field.
Xander Kyzar, LHP, Alexander, 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed pitcher, long, lean frame, an athlete on the mound. Closed out the win over River Ridge with 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Works from an over-the-top slot, short, quick arm, creates deception hiding the ball well. Fastball sat 81-82, tilt. Curveball, 69/72, 1/7 shape, depth, big break. Good feel for both.
Kole Orshoski, RHP, Alexander, 2023
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, proportional build. Stated against River Ridge in Game 2 of 1st round of GHSA Playoffs, picked up the win, going 7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 K. Arm works long on the back-side, some stiffness, slings it out of a ¾ slot, cross body action. Fastball sat 85-87, running action, relied heavily on, missed barrels with. Curveball, 76-78, 11/5, throws aggressively, inconsistent command.
Chase Moller, RHP, Alexander, 2023
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 150-pound right-handed pitcher, lean build, athletic on the mound. Started Game 1 against River Ridge, earned the W, going 5.2 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K. Long arm action, consistently gets out front, good extension down the mound. Fastball ranged 78-84, heavy running action, mixed speeds effectively, worked both sides of the plate, good feel for. Curveball, 65-69, 11/5 shape, tunnels, some swing and miss.
AJ Demastrie, 1B/C, River Ridge, 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pound switch-hitting corner infielder and catcher, strong, sturdy build, physicality throughout. Similar swing from both sides of the plate. Smooth rhythm in his hands, short stride, keeps it simple. Creates driven contact to the pull-side, strong hands, quick bat speed. Showed ability to recognize pitches and match barrel.
Joseph Cable, OF, River Ridge, 2023
Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, strong, athletic build, broad shoulders. At the plate, balanced setup, smooth load and a short stride, great balance. Quick, level swing, barrel lags through the zone. Gap-to-gap hitter, ball jumps off bat when he barrels it. Good athlete, quick out of the box. Big arm strength in the field.
Brandon Eck, RHP, River Ridge, 2022
Georgia Highlands commit. 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed pitcher, lean frame. Started against Alexander, went 5.0 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 K. Highly competitive, attacked the zone with a sinking fastball and an 11/5 curveball, good feel for both pitches. Fastball sat 85-87, boring action. Curveball, 70-73, 11/5 shape, depth, throws with intent, produces some swing and miss on.
Mill Creek v North Forsyth (4.27.22)
Beau Brailey, RHP, Mill Creek, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 3, 193 pounds, the broad shouldered submariner went viral on PBR Georgia Twitter after his dominant game 2 performance. His ability to maintain balance, direction, and repeat his funky delivery for 7 innings consistently shows he has an ability to be a D1 starter at the next level. His 85-87 FB w/ run & sink is a perfect mirror to his sharp sweeping SL at 74-76 T77. His feel for the CH will help him take the next leap, although he doesn’t need it to be an immediate contributor in college.
Matthew Simay, SS, Mill Creek, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 2, 155 pounds continues to look better every time we see him. One of the most projectable bodies in the ‘23 class has just as much ceiling in his bat. Had multiple QAB against one of the best pitchers in the state, and has effortless bat speed with a lofty swing path that can cover the entire zone. Rangy at SS with an accurate arm that's still getting stronger. A huge jump is coming with this one.
Daniel Pierce, SS, Mill Creek, 2025
Uncommitted. 5 foot 11, 165 pounds, but plays like a grown man. Faced multiple D1 arms who could not get him out. His approach, timing, and hand eye coordination are years ahead of his time. His head doesn’t move at all as he makes his forward move, and his compact swing flows freely from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what he turns into as he fills out over the next 2-3 seasons at the Mill.
Brett Barfield, LHP, North Forsyth, 2022
Florida State Commit. 6 foot 1, 193 pounds with one of the best breaking balls we’ve seen this spring. Barfield has a solid, mature build with a strong lower half but the frame should hold more. His tailing FB sat 88-89 and touched 90-91 at times. It didnt have much swing & miss on this day, but it was reported he had creeped above the low 90’s in recent weeks. His 70-72 CB had 11-5 shape with impressive tilt, as it consistently came in on a tough plane for hitters.
Cason Engert, RHP, North Forsyth, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 3, 190 pounds with a proportional build and broad shoulders. His delivery and arm action looks like they were made to perfection in a lab. He came into a high leverage situation, closing out game one away from his normal role of No. 2 starter. The FB sat 88-90 with nasty sink & bore from his incredibly efficient short circle arm action. It creates deception and gradually picks up momentum from the drop out of the glove through release. Broke off some A/AVG SL at 75-77 w/ tight spin and late bite. With his upper 70’s CH fading CH of the same quality, we couldn’t be more excited about his future.
Tyler Triche, IF, North Forsyth, 2022
Georgia Southern Commit. 6 foot 1, 190 pounds, Triche has continued to show advancement in his hit tool. The approach has tightened up, as he showed the ability to lay off breaking ball after breaking ball to put himself in hitters counts. When he got the heater, he was on nearly every one of them in both games. He has an unorthodox load but repeatedly gets hands into slot at a high level. Can see him hitting right away in college.
Chandler Deblois, CF, North Forsyth, 2024
Uncommitted. 5 foot 10, 150 pounds is a good athlete with twitchy actions everywhere on the field. A table setter type with consistent contact & speed, Deblois has noticeable bat speed for his size. With 10-15 more lbs of physical development he can turn into a freak athlete. Instinctive in CF and a tough out at the plate.
Lassiter v Winder-Barrow (4.28.22)
Ryan Martin, C/OF, Lassiter, 2022
GA Highlands Commit. 5 foot 9, 185 pounds with a strong, sturdy frame and quick twitch fibers. He has some of the most advanced swing mechanics we’ve seen this spring, and raw strength to match. With extremely relaxed hands & upper body at the plate, he proved loose muscles are quick muscles, sending a mammoth bomb to left center which completely changed the momentum of Lassiter’s game 3. Creates big momentum with his lower half in stride. Has potential to hit right away in JUCO.
Collin Strovinskas, C, Lassiter, 2023
Uncommitted. 5 foot 9, 180 pounds with a well built lower half and durable looking frame. Creates effortless bat speed and has big raw power with body control. Times up pitchers well with his lower half, knows how to stretch separation & has a very handsy on plane swing path. Legit D1 catch+throw behind the dish, hosed 2 runners against Winder-Barrow in game 3.
Dixon Noland, CF, Lassiter, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 1, 170 pounds of wiry strength and long explosive levers. The 6.6 runner was a hit machine all week for the Trojans against solid arms. Has good timing of separation and a repeatable load. Easy layback with his barrel allows the knob to lead swing & barrel to replace it for a short, level swing path. Easily covers the gaps in CF and is an instinctive route runner in every direction. Plenty of arm strength with quick exchange and accuracy.
Jared Webb, LHP, Lassiter, 2024
Uncommitted. 5 foot 11, 170 pounds with a medium frame and developing strength. Clean all stretch delivery who had a clutch performance as the game 2 starter for the Trojans. Stays patient over the rubber as he attacks toward the plate with his lower half. Webb has a high ¾ arm action and drives the ball downhill with good finish on each pitch. His FB is 84-85 T86 with late tail, and creates carry up in the zone by staying behind the ball well and getting good extension. His 70-72 T73 CB looks to be one of the best in the ‘24 class, as it has tight rotation with 11-5 shape and serious depth. Has only thrown his Mid 70’s CH for a year, and it’s developing as fast as it sinks.
Ryan Ford, 3B, Winder-Barrow, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 1, 225 pounds with the frame of a full time lumberjack, Ford obliterates baseballs like it's his job. His hands & elbows work close to the ribs throughout the swing, which creates a path that can easily inside out balls with power & turn the barrel to pull at any time of his choice. Haven’t seen him get beat inside by quality pitching all spring. Very handsy for his size, and a surprising run tool. Should become a dependable middle of the order bat at a good D1 program. Only going to get stronger, still more room to grow.
Mount Pisgah v George Walton Academy (4.29.22)
Jaden Anderson, OF, Mount Pisgah, 2022
Georgia State Commit. 5 foot 9, 180 pounds and a strong lower half with boulder shoulders. Jaden Anderson is a professional hitter, as he’s proven it on the biggest stages of the summer circuit against high profile arms. He has the definition of a quality, repeatable swing and can manipulate his barrel angle perfectly in the top+middle+bottom of the zone on any pitch. With his pitch recognition, hand eye coordination, simplified lower half & fluidity in his hands, Jaden can hit D1 right now.
Will Atkinson, 1B/RHP, George Walton Academy, 2023
Uncommitted. 6 foot 3, 225 pounds with enormous shoulders and a proportional well muscled body, Atkinson hits baseballs with distinct force. A tall setup with a slow flow in his hands, he produces effortless barrels with consistent backspin. Simple hip+shoulder separation and an easy, timed up load. Short & direct path with strong hands and big power potential.
