LakePoint Open: Infield Analysis

PBR Georgia Staff

The
LakePoint Open took place on June 2nd at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA. The event featured over 30 prospects from five different classes (2021-2025). Prospects participated in a pro-style workout. We have already gone through and analyzed the data collected from that day, which can be viewed HERE.

We began the player analysis from the event by taking a look at the catchers. Now, we will continue on to the infielders. At the top of the list is one of the younger prospects in attendance, SS Jin Kasuya (Mountain View, 2025). Kasuya stands out for his overall athleticism, making things look easy at the plate and defensively. He has the ability to use the entire field with a line drive approach. Up the middle, Kasuya is advanced in every way.

The top corner infielder in attendance, 1B/3B Braden Smith (North Oconee, 2022), put on a show during his round of batting practice, leaving the yard multiple times. Smith posted an event best 97.28 max exit velocity, 89.11 average exit velocity and 370 foot max carry. His performance earned him an invite to the
Top Prospect Games which was played on June 8th, featuring the top uncommitted 2022s in the state.

Keep reading to view the entire list of top prospects plus reports on all the infielders in attendance, listed alphabetically.
