Top Prospect Games: Catcher Analysis
July 8, 2021
The third annual invite-only Top Prospect Games took place on June 8th at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA. The event featured over 50 uncommitted 2022s. Prospects participated in a pro-style workout followed by simulated game play. We have already done a thorough inspection of the statistics collected from the event that can be viewed HERE.
Today, we will begin the player analysis from the event, starting with the catchers. Coming in as the top catcher is C/SS John Daniel Coleman (Effingham County, 2022). Coleman was equally impressive behind the dish as he was at the plate as a switch-hitter. Defensively, he has quick actions and plenty of arm strength, posting an event best 1.89 pop times. He has the ability to drive the ball with force from both sides of the plate as well.
Keep reading to see view reports on the rest of the catcher’s in attendance.
