Underclass Games: Stats Breakdown

The Underclass Games took place on Tuesday, July 24 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium on the campus of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. The invite only event featured 90 underclass prospects – from around the state - complete the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice, followed by three games. Here's a look at the numbers from Tuesday's event.

TOP 60 YARD DASH

There were 14 sub-7.10-second times recorded on Tuesday. Michael Latulas (Loreauville, 2020) clocked the quickest 60 yards of the event with a 6.69. Dontavius Johnson (South Plaquemine, 2020), Marcus Mott (Sam Houston, 2020), Jacob LaPrairie (St, Thomas More, 2020) and Codi Williams (St. Michael’s, 2021) followed suit, separated by slim margins.

Left-handed pitcher, Dustin Menard (New Iberia, 2020) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 89 mph on Tuesday. While Marcus Mott (Sam Houston, 2020), Devin DeSandro (ED White, 2020), and Luke McGibboney (Catholic(BR), 2020) each ran their fastballs up to 88 mph. An athletic left-hander, Brian Valigosky (Jesuit, 2020) showed pitchability with quality arm strength, as well, running his fastball up to 86 mph.

Joel Tarrh (Fredericksburg Academy (VA), 2020) posted a 93 mph exit velo, while Darian Duhon (North Vermilion, 2020), Michael Latulas (Loreauville, 2020), Seth Jones (Woodward (GA), 2020), Brian Valigosky (Jesuit, 2020) and Tripp Haddad (Jesuit, 2020) all posted exit velos of 90+.
