Position Profile: OF/2B
Body: Long tall frame with developing strength.
Run: 4.44 H-1B
Hit: LH- square stance, body load, line drive swing, lift through contact, squares baseball consistently. RH- similar mechanics, more lift through contact, looks to elevate, stays down and through contact well.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity.
Delivery: Recovering from TJ surgery. Stretch only.
Arm Action: Cocked arm action. One piece with stiff shoulder.
FB: 72-76 mph. Varying action.
CH: 65-68 mph. Occasional fade on CH.
6-foot-5, 165-pound switch hitting 2-way player. 4.62 H-1B time. From left-side shows easy body load, clean path with extension through contact, stays on and through contact, line drive approach. From right-side has mid/pull approach, some stiffness, avg. rhythm, ground ball and line drive contact, 85 mph exit velocity. Solid/avg. actions in field, long stiff arm action, elevated throws to plate, 81 mph arm strength from outfield. On mound; taller balance point, lands inline to catcher, short arm action from OT slot. Fastball was 72-75 mph with slight varying action to plate. Loose spin and shape on breaking ball. Avg. fade and sink on changeup currently.
3/11/18- 6-foot-2, 165-pound switch hitting 2-way player. Tall lean build. 7.53 runner. From left-side shows easy load, repeats swing well, consistent line drive approach, works mid/pull. Right-side; shoulder turn, looks to create more power, has extension through contact, squares baseball consistently. 84 mph exit velocity. Avg. actions in field, moves with flat feet, tends to field with 2-hands losing momentum and direction, makes routine plays, accurate arm to target, 79 mph arm from outfield. On mound; swings into balance point, lands inline to plate, short arm action, delivers with stiff shoulder to plate. Fastball was 75-77 mph, downhill plane, with straight action to plate. Solid depth on 11/5 breaking ball, mostly short to plate, with avg. feel for zone. Avg. fade and feel for changeup currently.
7/31/17- 6-foot-2, 165-pound switch hitting catcher. 4.88 home-to-first time. LHH- body load, easy hand trigger, solid extension through contact, mid/pull approach. RHH- should load, solid pull contact, line drive swing plane, 84 mph exit velocity. Above avg. flexibility, low set-up, has strength to hold pitches, overall avg. receiver with minimal body sway. Clean exchanges, avg. use of lower half, stiffer thrower actions, inconsistent to bag on throws, 69 mph arm strength with 2.19-2.35 pop times.
2/26/17- 6-foot-2, 145-pound switch-hitting catcher. 4.47 home-to-first time. Similar setup from both sides of plate, clean path, mid-pull approach, has better strength and pop from right-side, 81 mph exit velocity. Receives with thumb underneath, extra movement with glove, 2.32-2.39 pop times with 67 mph arm strength. Should continue to see improvement with gains in strength and maturity.
