2017 Indiana Player of The Year: Greenfield Central RHP/OF Drey Jameson

The 2017 season featured many stellar individual performances across the Hoosier State, with many worthy of being named player of the year.  However, one player for us in particular, stood out above the rest; Greenfield Central's Drey Jameson

A legitimate two-way prospect, Jameson's overall athleticism stands out in all facets of the game. The 6-foot, 160 pound Ball State signee went 6-1 this season including throwing two no-hitters with 112 Ks and a 0.65 ERA.  Offensively, he was equally impressive hitting over .400 with 22 RBI, 9 2B, 7 HR and swiping 10 bases.

In his final appearance on the mound this spring in the 4A Regional round, Jameson threw seven no-hit, shutout innings with 14 strikeouts versus eventual 4A state champion Cathedral before being lifted due to pitch count rules.  In that game he ran his fastball up to 94 multiple times, sitting 90-92 with a sharp 75-81 breaking ball that repeatedly froze the Irish hitters.

Expect Jameson to jump right into Ball State's lineup next spring both in the field and on the mound.
